Managed to get some more of my build done.....I painted the outside of the engine box for added fuel proofing and it will be easier to see any cracks or glue joint failure (I doubt this will happen),,,,,sealed all the hinge lines on the wings & stabs (even though there is a very minimal gap),,,,,,,installed the horns, linkages & servos (Futaba 9156's).....hardened all holes with thin CA and on the wings I added a small piece of 1/16" plywood to the underside of the servo drill holes for an added extra meat for the servo screws to bite (not necessary but I like the added security),,,,Waiting for my electronics power system, that should be here in the next week-----I did set up the servos on a Y harness to test throws and got them very closely matched with minimal hassles and using 130% for best throw resolution, the inboard linkage knuckle still had a small gap between it and the covering, with bevel to bevel throws......I am very happy with all the hardware, but I think I will find a longer 3mm beveled screw and put a nylon lock nut on it for extra security (thanks Bill)
Finding a longer 3mm beveled screw is not easy, no luck so far......I will go to my local specialty hardware guy tomorrow,,,,,,I also borrowed a DA 100 from a friend and mounted it, also found the location to mount the ignition and I'm running the plug leads through the holes that I drilled on the sides of the engine box---------It was hard to give my buddy back his DA, but I better buy a Xmas present for my wife before I spend too much more......more on my build soon,,,,secret grafixs will soon be applied

For the clevis screws I found 16 mm long stainless screws with counter sunk allen drive heads. I am lucky to have a specialty hardware store nearby that has nearly everythingbut the price it like gold! The screws were 71 cents each. Bought severall other items and then told the cashier, "10 of these rediculously priced screws". She looked at them and said wow they sure are , and rang the up for a buck total.
Just a couple MM extend past the lock nut. I'm sure Thread locker carefully used on the opposite side of the clevis as the screw enters the threads would work fine but I know that my lock nut is on there every time I remove my wings from the bag. Rained Friday, Windy yesterday, 30 MPH gusts today. Hate having a new plane a lousy weather! Bill |

Is anyone using 5985 or 8411's on the ailerons? My edge was delayed it looks to have spent a day in Jacksonville. Hopefully it wasn't needed as a step stool.
It looks like tomorrow the big day.

Recieved my edge, and all the boxing looked fine, so I sign for it. But the fuselage was damaged on the bottom. Seems the fuselage is packaged on its side with bottom facing outside. Appears box was dropped flat as not to show any damages. SO CHECK BEFORE SIGNING FOR SHIPPMENT! PM sent to KEN-H and recieved response within 20 minutes. PRETTY DAM QUICK I,D SAY. I was told that PAU would have to eat the damages, cause I accepted and signed for packages. Truely sorry about that. KEN-H forward my message to HERVE, who then responded within the hour. I then recieve a phone call for Herve the very next morning. It was a pleasant call and PAU took good care of me and a bad situation without pointing fingers haggling or any nosense. Thier support was over the top good, FIVE STARS *****. Starting my build now, wish I could post pics but not able at this time. Using HITEC5955,s every where, two on rudder. DL `100 and the stock mufflers fit without protruding thur front of cowl, however it is a tight fit and the bottom was openned up all the way to 1/4 inch infront of down tubes. cowel still covers carb thought. Added a liteply baffle at bottom of air inlets to prevent air from slipping under engine, and angled it upwards slightly. Fitting cowel on with spark plugs and caps is a bit tricky, but once you figure out all the moves ,it gets easy. Requires turning the cowel rotating if you will so the corners point up, down left and right, breifly to clear cylinders and plugs. Tail feathers installed and rudder. Useing a Spectrum AR 9100 RX with 4 remotes. Programing servo via Hitec programer. Working now on fitting TBM carbon fiber spinner and Mejzlik 27x10 prop. My hats off to the PAU guys, best support I ever had. Noted some minor workmanship issues with plane ,already explained by prior purchasers, no need to reprint. Of note was what appears to be carbon fiber rods in wing panels directly below wing spars, nice insurance. Cannot wait to maiden this plane. All I can say At this point is that it PRESENTS well on the bench when assembled, and may have a larger than avertised wing span, cord is hugggggghhhh. www.carolinaskydancers.com RutnBuc Thanks KEN and HERVE for bring us a great product, and the BEST support in the business! PS. I see aleast 20 areas where a 3D junkie could lighten this plane to a create a unheard of light weight. As is very lite wing loading, i believe it could go as low as 19 pounds with some work and a DA 85.

PAU is one of the best companies out there right now and the planes are top notch.
I cannot wait to get my PAU ultimate off the shelf and on the bench, then in the air!

I agree, they are very good to deal with and have great airplanes. I bought three planes off of them recently, this was due to hearing nothing but good things about them and their planes as well as a few other things (cost of shipping to me, prices and the planes). I am very happy with the purchases and will recommend them to anyone.

Near completion, awaiting some batteries. Programing servos. Run 1 gallon fuel Thur new DL 100 on ground. Hope to maiden flight this week. Throttle curve set. ten servos 8-5955 TG Hitecs 2-3151 Futaba 2- Fromeco 5200mah on RX 1-2600 mah on ignition. 3-JR HD Charge jack switches. Noted that canopy didnt lay flat across hatch in front, but if you lifted rear up approx 1/2 inch, it would lay down. So I set it in place and marked where I want it to sit. I glued front with GOOP across the flat on front only, not around curves and down fuse sides, while supporting rear 1/2 up overnight. Next day applied more GOOP across back and sides. With plastic between turtle deck and canopy, pulled it down into place , taped in place and added the 8 screws , 4 on each side. Worked great canopy now finished. Removed plastic and rolled excessive goop, dried, off with a rubbing of the fingers. Clean-up was easy. Thumbs are itching to go. Checked CG to see where I was. At 6 1/2 inches it takes a 4.8 nicad sitting on trailing edge of wing to balance, so I know with the two 5200,s somewhere just behind wing tube it should balance out without any added weight in tail. Crossing my fingers and toes that the cheap IMPORT DL 100 will prove to be a good little engine. Did not have the RX batteries onsite yet. But Don,s Hobby Shop got,em in the mail. www.carolinaskydancers.com RutnBuc

Wylie that sounds great. You guys in the Carolinas are so lucky to have good flying weather year-round. After riding the crew van into a ditch today, I'm about ready for all this cold and ice to go away!
Get some pics of the maiden for us!
