+1 I flew the plane with a DA100, and kens with the DA85 on the can and pitts mufflers, I didnt like the DA85 with the can, but put the DA85 on a pitts and its a blast, huge difference for me. Id have to sit and really think about which DA Id want on it, both work fine this way.

This is a build thread, here is Kens post from page 3

However from this step forward, DA-85 users should be mindful as you add hardware so you don’t have to shift everything forward later on.

Now having said all that, a stand alone bell crank is ideal if your worried about wear on the output shaft of the servo. I use the KISS principle…besides it works. I’ll be more likely to dirt nap it doing something I stupid long before I ware out the output shaft of the servo. Attach the supplied pull-pull cable in a crossed fashion.
See above, hope this helps. There are pictures there also.

I was going to use 2 Futaba S9156 servosfor the rudder, but I may just put one in for now and see how it is. If needed, I will add the second one. The rest of the plane has the Futaba S9156 as well, except for the throttle which is going to be a Futaba S9405. I will be running 6v through a SF Eq6.

Yours has a single 9156, Jeff? If so then I can vouch for you that a single 9156 should work fine on 6V. Thanks for letting me fly your plane!

Guys hold the phone! I think Jeff has a single 8711 in that Edge as I do in mine which works great. You may want to look into the new 9157's Futaba has now. Even though I think the 9156 is a little under rated, I would not be the beta tester for a single 9156 there. I am normally a JR guy but after flying those 9156's I just got a set for a new project. I probably would try a single 9157 for the rudder.

My edge has 9156's & JR 8711 rudder using the Smart-Fly EQ6 @ 6.5 v...........It looks like it has enough power flap itself in the air..........

Maiden today went flawless-----perfect weather, a good teacher (Jerry R.) and a plane that is incredible,,,,,can't wait to fly her again...........four flights today and with each flight a little more fun

Congradulations on the successful and enjoyable maiden Scott. Your plane looks great, what prop are you using? I have the S9156's already, so I will put 2 for the rudder. Anyone have any idea if there is some documentation on how much torque and amps it take for a given area? The new 9157's sound very nice, lots of torque and quick.

Scott,
I see in one of your pictures a while back you had 2 x 3000 mAh Li-Mag batteries for the Rx. Did you get a chance to see what you had left in them after your flights. What do you have for the ign? How long was your total flight time?
