I must say my last post was kinda over the top. Scott 540 I realize you have genuine concern in regards to your wing failure. I do feel bad that I resorted to name calling and questioning your intergity. ROCKETMAN I would like to say that it was most unfortunate that you lost two planes and your sponsership. Its a life leason, a hard one. Attitude makes the differance. Hope you guys can forgive and move on. Major SmackDown the avatar is just that "CREEPY" .
Check out my profile if you like. The wing panel on some one else,s plane will evently fail ,and yall will feel vindacated, however it will be some one who flies alot, burns alot gas. And gets alittle careless. When you point the nose down, ya point the throttle down. When ya point the nose up, you point the throttle up. The Edge is great at slow flight and three-D plane, Not for stick jerking. <RUTNBUC> PS. I still have parts if anyone can use them.

If it goes into the wing then mark the tube when the tube is fully inserted. Remove the tube and measure the distance of those two lines, it should be less than 2 mm (I think was the spec given).

I measured it that way and it appears to be just over an 1/8 inch difference.
It's actually longer than shorter, so I may have to shave a little off to make the wings fit next to the fuselage.

If it is a little longer than what it should be then yes, you should remove some of the length of the tube. If you don't, when you insert it and bolt up the wings to the fuse it will more than likely crack or brake the wing rib or glue bond that it butts up against.

My tube was actually a millimetter or two long, I just shaved off the excess with the disc sander on the side of my belt sander. (Wear a mask if you do that!)

Attached are a couple of pics of how I made my cannister mounts. Its simple enough, I made up a basic jig to draw the circular cut out that I wanted, and then drilled a series of holes to run the silicone tubing that the cans would sit on.

I may have to either "heat proof" my throttle servo, or move it. It looks very close to the can, I may just run some aluminum tape around the sides of the servo that are closest to the can - that should be enough to deflect the heat.

nice mounts

You could put the servo inside the motor box, I think Ken put his inside the fuse to get it out of the way.

I ran my AW260 with the cans and the servo under the box in the middle. It never had any problems.

I have my servo mounted in the same spot as you, all I did was glue a retangular (length and heigth of the servo)plywood piece along side the servo (one the header side) to keep the heat away. If you make it any bigger you may not be able to get the can out or put it in.
