I agree to small and if GP couldn't get them under 35 lbs easily they should have stopped and went with another project. Under 35 lbs with cans and a 150 would have been fun but maybe not possible.

Look like in the video this plane handle well. I guess lets just wait to see how it flies before we put judgement on this plane. I will come up front and say I am not a big fan of GP. I have had a lot of GP planes up to when I turn maybe 14. I started seeing the real quality of them. They flew great though.
I have a friend at the field that had a DA 50 in his Cap and it flew it apart two weeks ago. Wing broke at the tip flying straight. Not sure how this plane will be. I personally would like to test it out to see how it does. But I know I am not putting money out there to get one!!! Wonder how precision it is.

I want one! I've been looking at this thing for several weeks. Sure it's no 40%. It's 38. I'm sure it can get close to 36lbs. My hang up on it is the price.CHEAP!!! My 100cc Yak cost more than this plane. Most people say it's just an upsized 100cc plane so they can throw a 150 on it but I see most 40% ARF's are $1600 and weigh more like 40lbs. A Carden would be great if it cost $1500 and was 98% built and weighed 36lbs before removing material out of the airframe, but the truth is we all don't have the time to build, space, or way to haul that big bastard. Most would also say that if you're going to spend the same amount of cash on engine/electronics to just fork up another $600 and get a 40% Arf from SD,AW,AM,Dietrich, etc. $600 is a lot of cash for me to cough up so the cheaper, the better. I'm keeping my eye on this one for flight reviews. As long as they aren't blowing apart or weighing 40lbs, I'm buying one! I can live with something a few inches shorter than the guy pitted beside me. Hell I'm used to that in more than one way.

I think the perfect pilot figure would be Ronald Mc Donald. I hope it looks better in person. I just have a hard time with the scheme. It looks to much like there electrics.

That's why there are so many different scemes from different companies. There's a ton of planes I want but won't get because "I" think they look like s
t. To each there own. I'm sure several people don't like your color sceme but that doesn't stop you from flying it, right?

The Model Airplane News does make reference to the weight inside the article, " you will need to land the model with some throttle management as you are powering a 35-pound arobat."
But there is no actual weight posting in the specs and his comment could be taken as a broad statement. |

What I don't understand is the need for built up wings. Why not sheeted foam? It's lighter, stronger, and cheaper on a production scale. The same can be said for the tail feathers although not near as much influence on the overall weight. Point is they could make it lighter if they tryed. The comments about the prototypes while favorable don't take into account the fact that these are professionally built and setup buy the manufacturer so they are bound to fly great and like Tbob said those guys could fly a 2x4 and make it look good. I for one understand what Tbob is getting at which scares me but if this plane was 3 or 4 lbs lighter they would not be able to keep it in stock at that price. Plus you would not be restricted to what you put in it with respect to setup. Which in and of itself helps keep overall cost down because you don't have to use the lightest motor, servos, hardware, exct. If you are saving anything on the price of the plane you will spend it on the acc................
