Only thing I an think of is:
Possibly... your gyro was reversed...if you take off in a hover with the gyro reversed, the tail rotation will start slow and as the gyro corrects (in the wrong direction) the heli quickly looks like a ceiling fan. Hope this helps. -Craig |

Probably not a reversed gyro ..you said you had it in the air 9 times before...I reversed gyro will show up the minute friction leaves the skids Did you land or sit down hard at any time ?? ...Could be a servo gear stripped..Could be control rod from servo to tail loose or off.. For a "suddenly" I would suspect a control rod or servo issue and not the gyro itself... Set the heli on the ground and by hand quickly move tail side to side and see what kind of contol movements you get from the servo and the tail rotor. Check your servo to gyro connection

Thanks for the tip
It was probably the gear (which drives the tail rotor through a belt) failure. |

Could also be the tail rod guides on the boom. Are they glued with ca? If not, there's your problem. What gyro you using? That could be it too.
