i really need to re write what i just said. typeing like im drunk. i meant to say that i allways leave the fuel line sticking out after it has been fueled so i know its fueled and ready to go. and i put it back in once the engine starts. and if its not sticking out i need to fuel up or double check.

I have been filling before I start her up to fly. Does not matter if I filled it up and got called away for a bit (which I try not to let happen). But I like the idea of either pulling the fuel dot out after landing and once filled put it back in place or leaving it in place till it is fueled up and then leaving it sticking out till ready to start the motor for the flight. Give you a visual as to if it is filled or not, just need to make it happen one way or the other and making it a habit.

While most of us have forgotten to re-fuel at some point, there are other ways to run out of fuel too...
A couple of weeks ago, I was having so much fun with my 43%, that I forgot about time...
and yes, I do use a timer.
I was flying alone, and spent a lot of time coming down in a harrier, hovering and torque rolling in front of me, and I never hear the timer! The engine died as the plane was about 10' up, pulling up from a torque roll.
It came down hard on the rudder, and came to rest upside down, crushing the canopy and cowl. The fuse also broke in three places.
Miraculously, the wings and stabs are like new. A new fuse is on the way...

Well, there are a 100 ways to dump one, and I did it a month ago on my 43% PAU! No wind, too much speed and tried to put it down anyway. 15 Flights is all I had on her. Called Herve, and he was able to have one on a truck the next Day!! Took me a week of evenings to swap all over. I actually saved Left wing, Cowl turtle deck and stabs, but Right wing and Fuse were destroyed. All electronics and Engine perfect as well. I currently am somewhere around 35 flights on Edge 540 (Ver. 2.0) and feel whole again!! Thanks PAU and Herve. Sorry for your losses guys, but we have all been "Careless" in someway or another. Part of this Sport we love!!

Well.... Those are some sad stories!! Augh

The only salvaged parts were the wings,CF tubes, and rudder... No damage at all... So if anyone needs those parts, just let me know!

I love the fuel dot idea!!! I will use it for sure!!

Guys I have the 43% Pau for 1 year and three months, really like it and in love with the plane, recently I brought two planes that came with SFG (side force generators) and really like the way they perform, but I admit that in some tricks they hold you a little bit, but in a general perspective I like them. I am thinking in building a removable SFG's for my PAU and test it, if I dont like them I can take them off and store them. What do you guys think? Please post your opinions. Thanks!

I don't like the way Side Force Generators look but the tip ribs on the Edge should be strong enough to support them if you want to make some and screw them into the tip rib.
