A video with sound of the engine running on the ground and then flying in the air would be great in the near future, maybe even a Db reading.

The header is the same dia. as the inlet on the can. I just used some "L" header pieces from KS to make the header. Making the header was much easier than I thought. I will be making my own from now on. It will need to be shortened to get it in tune. As far as the performance goes, It spun up to 6410 the first time I went to full throttle. This is almost a hundred RPM more than it did before, keep in mind the long header length. I'm hoping for a true honest 6900-7000 on a Mejz 28-10. The sound was like a DA50 on an MTW75k. Almost too quiet. The cylinder temps got up to the 260 degree range and the can (which is about a half an inch from the fuel tank) was only warm to the touch. It lasted for almost 10 min. on the ground before one of the end pieces blew off. No big deal, my brother and I pretty much expected it to happen. I have a solution for it, an alumnium ring riveted to the end of the can holding the back plate on. I'm off to the hardware store to find some thin alumniun. I'll report back when I get it to stay together and get a flight or two on it.

Excellent to hear of the 1st run so far and how things went. I am sure you will get the little bugs worker out.

Just got mine today, took it out of the boxes to look and check out. Very well packaged, very nice looking and the quality looks excellent.

Jamie's Unltimate is one sweet looking bird, especially in person. The yellow really makes it 'pop' in the air (but then again, I'm kinda partial to yellow airplanes.)

Where 'ya flyin' at Jamie?

First thing to do, throw away all of the nuts and bolts. Then go buy new ones. When I got mine the covering looked perfect, after a couple of days it was almost falling off of the plane. I now have a few wrinkles I can't get out. I hate monokote. Great flying plane.

Also double check all of the preinstalled blind nuts. A few of mine were not glued in straight.

Gonna be at Big Jerrys when I get the exhaust system sorted out. I haven't had a chance to cut the headers and retune yet. A few more days and I'll get it right. I'm getting almost 6500 on the ground at running temp with a Mejzlik 28-10.

Thanks for all the tips. I will check everything, including glue joints (so far all looks good). There are some stuff I will be changing for sure, mainly because I think there are better stuff out there and partial to certain brands as well. I will be recovering the plane some time, so not too worried about that (but the covering job does look very well).

I love Ultimates, my third plane I ever flew was one. I would like to see this one in a different color scheme of course at the same price. I have heard that this is one nice looking plane when you see it in person.

I flew Ken's plane at the Vegas Huckfest. It was alot of fun. He ribbed me for flying so high but I'm not good at 3-D and it was his plane with the Marsh under it.

I dislike the color scheme. Not so much the scheme as when you put those 3 colors together they appear dull instead of shiny and vibrant like Monokote is.

Mine is going to be recovered this winter.
