Thanks! Your previous instructions were plenty to get me heading the right way, but the finished product is even better.

Do you think taking the pipe tunnel out cost you much strength? I'd like to ditch the weight, but wasn't sure if that was also a structural member.

And about how much do you think the pipe tunnel weighed?

The motor was very easy to mount using the Hacker motor mount. I measured off the marks on the motor box. I then plugged it into the speed control. I'm also using a spinner that I obtained from Extreme-Flight. It has an aluminum back plate and a plastic cone held on with 4 screws. The mount as a rear bearing incorporated into the back to help support the motor. I also mounted the 24 x 12 Apc prop.

Next step was to mount the cowl. First I take card stock and tape them to the fuse. I mark where I want the holes drilled. Ithen slip the cowl on. I use a piece of tape from the bottom of the cowl to the spinner plate to get it perfectly centered. I then tape around to lock it in. As you can see I fold the 4 strips of card paper that I had marked with cowl off into position and drill the holes. I then installed the blind nuts and reinstalled the cowl, mounting the prop and spinner.

These are the batteries I'm using. FlightPower 4900 6S wired in series. In one of the pics you can see the V-Balancer. They are mounted in the plane with some sections of flooring that allows good retention and great cooling.

This is a spin Box that sets up and measures last flight info. It also shows max amps and voltage

Not sure, guess I should have weighed it. Probably not more than a few ounces. But it all counts in the end. I will have a weight real soon

I'm glad that helped! I wasn't too worried on the strength. The electric powerplant doesn't have the power pulses of the IC motor. I have ck'd the torsional and it doesn't seem to flex. Dave Jones did this on his, he has had several flights with no issues

Helped? Shoot, I'm almost finished with them!

Still not sure, the Extra doesn't seem to have as much structure in it as the Yak. And what's there is really light. I think I'll go ahead and rig it up, and if it seems porky I'll look at that pipe tunnel again.

Thanks for the build thread, yours is really turning out top shelf.

Well, "almost finished" might have been a bit optimistic, but here's the left one. I have all the parts cut and dry fitted for both, but it's too late to mix epoxy tonight.
