The cool part was JagerBomb putting up the build pics of his latch, all I had to do was copy it.

I was just lucky to have the parts. There's a piece of brass tubing, wonder if I have some music wire that'll fit? Yep, got it. No way I'm gonna have some 1/8" wheel collars. Yep, there's a pack with 3 in it. Got to remember to look for some ink pens with springs at work, I'll be shut down for the weekend without those springs.

So having the pics and the parts was the hard part, the rest was just a couple of beers.

Looking Good Mark! Glad I could help with a couple tricks, as soon as I do the canopy latch our planes will look like they came out of the same shop!
You will love this setup, this Hacker and Flightpower setup is bulletproof can't wait for some good weather so I can go burn some more electrons. This plane flys awesome and is rock solid. Chris Hinson is without a doubt producing the nicest and best flying ARFS on the market, the build quality and covering and paint quality is better than 90% of the people in the hobby can do by themselves.

Here is a couple pics of mine:

Awesome build, I have the 74" Version electrified. The only thing I can suggest is switching to the Xoar or Mejzlik electric props. The APCs (at this size) flex and unwind too much.

Keep up the posts, can't wait to hear the flight reports!

Don't want to clutter up this Yak build with too many Extra pics, but the quick latches turned out perfect.

Thanks, that means a lot coming from DSP. I was sure happy with the way they turned out. And I agree with what you said earlier about Chris's ARFs, I built one of the 58" Extras and it was nicer than I could do. This 88.5 incher is just as nice.

I'll do a mini-build thread on the Extra once all my other stuff gets here, just covering the things I'll be doing a little different.

I weighed the plane today over at Aerographix............18.6 lbs ready to fly! I weighed it on my shipping scale at home on the carpet and an angle cause it would hit the ceiling if I stood it straight up.It showed 16.75 Lbs which I thought couldn't be right with the weight of the batts and all. So I decided to take it over to Bryan's to get the graphics done and I know he has 2 professional calibrated scales. It weighed the same on both scales, 18.6 lbs. I still need to add the baffle. What are the gas ones coming in at?

I'd say in the range of 16.5 lbs. (DA 50 w/stock muffler) to 18 lbs. (heavier engine and set up). But that's also dry. Figure in the weight of a 20 oz. tank of gas and you're not that much heavier.

I have put the 58" extra together and it goes together so smooth, I don't think there is anything I would change from the way Chris has it listed in his manual. Chris does a great job at doing all the work for you and his setups are right on. Hopefully we get a break from winter soon so I can fly the 58" extra, it's a cool airplane!

I think I am going to do the 100cc Yak electric next it should be way cool!!!
