![]() In-Depth Support Products AR9100 DSM2 9-Channel PowerSafe Receiver Key Features
The AR9100 is designed for models using multiple servos that draw excess current or multiple high-torque servos, such as giant-scale airplanes and jet models. It features a robust power bus designed to manage high-current loads, as well as dual 16AWG battery input leads with EC3 connectors for use with larger battery packs. This makes it possible to support high-current systems straight through the AR9100 without the need for a separate power system. As an added measure of safety, Spektrum designed the AR9100 with a soft switch. Servo current is routed around the switch so, should it fail for any reason, power to the system will not be interrupted. The AR9100 PowerSafe™ receiver is a full-range receiver system designed for models that draw excess current such as giant-scale airplanes and jet models. This unique receiver design contains a main unit which houses the power bus, and it includes 3 remote receivers which come with one of each: 9”, 12” and 24” remote receiver extensions. The dual path redundancy of Spektrum’s DuaLink™ technology, plus the fact each of the receivers is mounted in a slightly different location, exposes each to a different view of the RF environment and creates a bulletproof RF link in all conditions. You can add an optional fourth remote receiver (SPM9545—sold separately) to further enhance the receiving capabilities of the system for more complex aircraft. In addition to Spektrum’s exclusive SmartSafe™ technology, the AR9100 gives you the option of using standard user preset failsafe settings. It is also compatible with Spektrum’s optional Flight Log Specs

Yeah, but you still need matchboxes, and what's the point, then, if you're plugging three 8711's into the matchbox with only one little servo lead plugging into the powersafe unit? Sure, you won't have to worry about the receiver cutting out anymore, but do you really want to try to push a possible 12 amps through one servo connecter? And do you still want to spend an additional $100 on matchboxes? If I wasn't getting away from Hitec servos or didn't need matchboxes, I could make this work, but something like a Smart-fly Power expander EQ10 still sounds like a better option if you want full power to all servos AS WELL AS the receiver, and servo matching all-in-one.
I had one on backorder 3 months ago. I saw it in use in one of McConnville's planes and it worked fine on a 43%er, but I still prefer to not run matchboxes and want the piece of mind of having full power to all my servos, so I cancelled my backorder...I bet a year from now they'll wise up and come up with an even better solution (power distribution, power back-up[like the D-cup], servo matching, and receiver all in one). |

![]() In my defense on that one tho, my LHS guy told me he could get one first and so I said I'd take it if he could get me one before Horizon came through. He didn't.... I wound up getting my X9303 from a LHS with an online presence. Maybe Horizon will treat me better on the new rx????

most of the people that fly 40% airplane use DPSI system in their aircraft anyway.
the Receiver is a new, easy, and pretty cheap for the guy thet fly 50-80 CC airplanes with only one decent servo on each surface. ![]() Ido

Um, you dont need a Powerbox and you dont need matchboxes!!!!!!! It doesnt matter if you have multiple 8711's in a wing or HS-55's. You can match them up with one reciever or two. I've never used a matchbox or powerbox and everything runs perfect. No extra power draw, no slop or anything and fly 7-8 times a day. Probably more but was to tired to go anymore. You match them up mechanically saving hundreds of dollars!!!!!
