I'm looking for a builder in or around WA state to do some overhaul work on my 40% Carden Edge. I had planned on making a winter project out of it but find myself with much less free time than anticipated. Without going into the specifics, I basically want to have the covering stripped, airframe lightened and freshened up, recovered and repainted. I plan on buying a new cowl and wheel pants for the project. I'll probably strip all the radio gear and reinstall it once completed but may entertain that as part of the deal.
I really want to avoid shipping the plane so I'm primarily looking for a builder within a few hundred miles of the Seattle area. I may consider shipping, though, as I already have a crate. Right now I'm looking for quotes and trying to get an idea of timeframes, etc.. I will obviously discuss the specifics with the builder. As a side note, I'm new to the area and haven't been able to do anything R/C related since I got here. I'd love some input in fields, etc.. I'd like to meet up at a field and hang out for a bit some time as well. Thanks, Abram |

Levi Jordan is in that area, not sure if he does that kind of "refresh", but he's a very quality builder.
Here's his website: http://www.levijordan.com/ Last edited by Boulder; 01-27-2008 at 01:29 PM. |

I checked his site earlier today. As of 6 months ago, he was already booked through June of this year. I'd imagine he's probably booked through the end of the year by now. I was hoping to find someone with more recent availability. And to be honest, I don't know if I need "one of the best builders in the world" and the price that comes with it. I'm just an average joe flyer looking for quality work at a reasonable price. If I were a world class competitor (or trying to be one) I'm sure his services would be much better appreciated.

There is a guy up in that area by the name of Frank Pelligrenie "sp?" that use to do some pro build stuff. He always had very nice planes.

You can get in touch with Frank Pelligini at fpelleg@aol.com. He's a great builder, he's up near Snohomish, WA.
Another option is Archie Auxter, his e-mail is available through the RAMS website: http://www.seattlerams.com/ look at the members section Last edited by Dan767; 01-27-2008 at 04:38 PM. Reason: added Archie reference |
