Mine came yesterday. I would have posted earlier, but I did not want to be the first. But I guess I am. Everything looks nice. Unfortunately, the fuse shifted around during shipping and the fiberglass hatch was damaged. I will have the replacement soon. Otherwise, I feel like I stole the kit from Scott at the price I bought it for. Everything fits the way it should. All that I have left to glue is the rudder.
More comments to follow.

This kit is very impressive. The ailerons were not warped. The leading edges on the control surfaces are straight. The trailing edge of the wing mates with the ailerons perfectly. The wing saddle is top notch. The two inner most hinges are already cut on the elevator stabs. Usually one has to cut the first two barbs off the hinges to prevent contact with the stab tube. Not with this bird. Carbon fiber wing tube, stab tube, and tail wheel all standard. The main landing gear shows great promise. Hardware is included with short linkages. Some dealers make you pay another 75 dollars for the same.
This arf proves one does not need a name or a name brand to produce a quality product. Even when this plane goes off sale, it will be hard to find a better 50cc product for the price. More comments to follow as the build progresses.

Glad to see some of these kits getting out there. I'm looking forward to seeing the progress. The 68" Suhkoi I have is all hinged just waiting on the engine and radio gear. Hopefully in a couple of weeks it will be ready to fly.

Hello!
I received the blue YAK today and I totally agree that this bird is nice. The covering is better than I have ever seen. I cannot comment about the rest due to that I just opened the box for a visual check. Pics will come soon... Perry |

You guys think the kit looks good in the box, which it does. Just wait until you fly it! You will be even more happy. This airplane flys fantastic.

The aluminum landing gear and gear platform are very robust. The first picture is of the plnae upside down looking thru the cannister tunnerl. The orange wing is the Yak and the blue and white wing belongs to the extra.

This is a picture of the fuse inside the box. The landing gear and wing tube was secured down nicely to prevent shifting during shipping. Unfortunately the fuse is not tided down and is allowed to move around during shipping. This movement is what caused damege to the fiberglass hatch. I told Scott about the incident and we came up with a solution to prevent this from happening to others.

I only have a scale that measures pounds and ounces. I apologize for not being able to provide more accurate numbers. Hopefully this build will not come down to last gram.
Fuse without stab, rudder, hatch, and cowl-- 3lbs Fiberglass Cowl--13oz Wing with ailerons and no servo--1lb 4oz Fiberglass hatch--8oz Aluminum Landing Gear--9oz Tail wheel assembly--2oz Rubber Wheels--4oz Carbon Fiber Wing Tube--5oz As my particular build progresses, I will do intermittent weight and balance checks. Before I add my engine and radio gear, if the plane weighs eleven pounds or less, I will be able to make a reasonable weight goal of sub seventeen pounds. Regardless, the plane is averaging two ounces heavier than my extra at similar weigh ins. I am not cutting corners with this goal. I will have dual regs and batts, dual receivers, wovering switch, digital throttle, 2x5985, 3x5955, and an adequate ignition battery. If it comes out heavier than preferred, I will have options. After doing alot of reading, I am very proud of the power system that I will be using. An economical and effecient power system. More comments on this area of the build and others to follow. ![]() More to come as the build progresses. Last edited by Black Bird; 02-09-2008 at 07:46 PM. Reason: More Weight Measurements |

I am using SWB single-lock servo arms except on the rudder. I highly recommend drilling the wholes thru the control surfaces for the pushrods before glueing. I also recommend using a drill press to ensure proper symmetry. I good hole location on the aileron is a half an inch out from the servo at a ninety-degree angle. Using a ninety-degree bent ruler, measure a half inch from the hinge. Half inch from the hinge line works well on the elevators too. I used three forths of an inch from the hinge line for the rudder.
