Default My new indoor foamy bipe

Hey dudes, I'm back with another foamy build thread... This time i wanted to try my brain at a biplane. I've never scratch-built a foam Bipe before. So i knew this would be interesting!
I found these plans online several months ago, but I just now got around to getting them printed out and blown up. I'm not sure who drew the origional plans, but they
needed alot of work....There were ALOT of crooked lines, and i had to totally
re-draw the horizontal stab, elevator, and wing struts. I think it will all be worth it,
this thing is SWEET!
Here are a few pics of the fresh-cut foam before paint...

Starting assembly! Horizontal fuse sections glued in place, lower wing attatched along with all 4(!!) of the wing struts. Next will be the top wing and the horizontal
stabilizer.

I think you are going to run into the same problem I had. Too much side area. My would need opposite rudder then normal. But your bipe does look good.

If you do find that it has too much side area for you liking you can put strategically placed holes in the struts. Its not a bad thing, I just really didnt like the completely neutral on all axis "tensor" feel.

Hey guys, this looks like one of my designs from last year. Sorry about the crooked lines it was just something I did for myself then decided to share with everyone else. My drafting skills obviously aren't quite up to scratch yet Oh well keep practicing! This was my first bipe version and I only made one and was quite happy with the result but then tried to make a good thing better with the next version but it wasnt any good (If it ait broke don't fix it!). So let me know what you think of it as i didn't get much of a chance to fly the original one.

is gonna be sweeeet. Airframe is finished, just gotta string the spider wire bracing
and start installing electronics. sitting right at 3oz right now. Not bad for a 34in biplane! this thing is biiiiig!

Well, im not really sure...It started as a file on my computer, I e-mailed it to my buddy, and I told him i wanted the wingspan to be about 34in. Well when he printed it, it came out with a 30in wing, so basicly i took my straight edge and pencil and kind of traced the whole plane outside of the origional lines. I made some areas larger, and some areas just a little bigger. It turned out pretty good i think.
With no bracing, there is quite a bit of flex in the airframe. Im just going to string
the crap out of it with the braided spiderwire and see what i come up with
Hope to get some stringing done tonight...
