Default Aeroworks Edge 540t 60/90

Just lookin for the cg on this one- its discontinued, and I plan to re-maiden it this weekend- (just bought it used with a ys 91ac ) Thanks for lookin, and hopefully responding too!! Actually, if anyone has owned one, give me some feedback and let me know what you think of it? bad habits? I had a .91 powered fliton edge freestyle, (60") and loved it- hopefully this will fly similar, but does feel a bit heavier- K.M.

I flew one a couple years ago. It was a bit heavy, but actually flew rather scale tumbles which I just loved! Usually it takes a much larger airplane to have realistic tumbles. It also snapped very well, and generally presented itself nicely. For all out 3D it wouldn't hurt to lighten it up a bit. Compared to the Fliton it will seem really overweight! The mass does help when it comes to the tumbles, but obviously the way most 3D guys fly, weight is not your friend.

Here's one from the full scale realm that I think you might like, and that you wont see many airplanes in this size range do very well at all. Set up a little faster than the speed you would use for a snap roll, pitch up to about 30 degrees, roll left and at the 270 degree point (right wing down) come in with full left rudder, forward elevator, and a little left aileron. That's Wayne Handley's WHOOEE tumble.

As far as mods, I ran dual mini servos for the elevator halves, and we custom made some carbon fiber landing gear for it. If you can find replacement gear that will shave a lot of its excess weight right there. They are waaaay overbuilt. . .if you take them off, you will see what I mean. They would hold up to a 30 lbs airplane I bet.

Haha on the landing gear- if you look at my avatar, you will see the custom carbon fiber landing gear that the prev. owner made- and yes, he gave me the stock gear with it, and yes, I agree with you fully- weight is not an issue, as I have a YS .91AC in it, and it has a ton of power! I admit, this is an old airplane, and I have seen age at work on this one. I am stripping it to the bone as we speak, and gonna go over the glue joints to make sure I can wring the hell out of it!! thanks for the tip on the WHOOEE- GONNA DEFINITELY HAVE TO TRY THAT ONE.... It would look bitchin with smoke...... the higher wing loading with the smoke would make it snap better too!!

Thanks again for the reply!! K. M.

I have a 60/100 size 540T from Pacific Aero Models and it performs 3D very well with a Saito 125 four stroke. The model is stable and responsive. The CG if I remember correctly was 3 1/2'' from the leading edge. The saito with the Vess prop gives the 540T the power it needs for all types of flying.

I've got one of these airplanes. Bought it brand new and it's still going. Has an OS .91 two stroke. Love it, Love it, Love it. Flies GREAT

Just about the only Glo airplane I have left and have no intentions of getting rid of it either.

I have the manuals and can measure the wing tube for you. Don't know exactly where to get one but I'm sure you could find a CF replacement reather easily.

Yes the Landing gear is rather sturdy, but mine balanced perfectly with no adjusting of anything. Rolls like crazy on high rates.

PM me with your mailing address and I'll make a copy of the manuals and send them to you.
