What is a good flying, and popular 40% "ARF" out right now for 3D and imac? I would power it with a DA 150.
thanx

any of the Comp ARF 40%ers my preference being the Giles but the Extra and Super Xtra are awsome as well.

I think one of the best ARf's for a da-150 is the Aviation Models 37.% Yak I think this will be the plane to have for both IMAC and 3d. I have heard that some of the Top pilots in the US will be flying these in competition this year. If you are looking for a kit...... what else a Carden

I have to agree with JEEUM. I flew his/Dave Ficks Extra a couple weeks ago and it flew really well. DA150 with stock mufflers. Light with HUGE control throws. Knife edge only needed about 3% up elevator. It also had alot of control authority. Good buy for $1500 for an ARF.

I would have to say in general how much money to you want to spend and what type of flying are you going to be doing- just for the sake of conversation. Comp-arf Super Extra is highly pre-built and will do all 3D very well. Other examples would be to look what kind of aircraft were at the Tuson Shootout. The Yak 54 - Quiques 37% Yak (even the 100CC Yak) seem to be the popular plane of choice in most venues although it is higher priced than even the Comp Arf. With the Yak theme in mind here lets don't forget about the good ole Comp Arf Extra 330S is seen alot of IMAC meets. Now in less pre fab types the Dalton builts and Godfreys Extras are good. I would have to say there is alot of excietment right now about the 260's - still waiting to see flight reviews from the Garrett Morrison types.

I'll throw a third vote for JTec. Planes built strong, look great and fly very good. Plane for plane, undoubtedly, the best buy out there.
If customer service plays a factor, then I gaurantee you can not beat Jtec. |
