Default Magic hand RC...new kids on the block???

hey guys......

You know me , when i see something new in this hobby , the first thing i do is run over to FG and post it for my fellow flyin' brothas!!

so.....i came across a new company making airplanes , and i figure they must be pretty descent if someone like TBM is selling them ( clicky-clicky) >>>> http://www.troybuiltmodels.com/MHYAK.htm

They seem to only have the Yak and the Gee Bee at TBM as of now , but if you visit their website , they have quite a few more ( click it!! >>>> http://www.magichand-rc.com/c1.php?bid=30

They have 30%-40% aircraft here......with even TWO 35% yaks.??? one is 103" and the other is a 107".....weird.

Anyways......there s chemes looks pretty good. I did notice some similarities with one of the yaks.......it kind of reminds me of the same scheme that "Rich Model" had in the 50cc Yak 54........possibly the same outfit makes them??

They even have a few 35% katana's and Sukhoi's. I'm a big Sukhoi fan , so this is a good thing.

Anyways......any of you heard of these guys " Magic hand rc" ?? Must of had a good sales rep to be selling them through TBM.

thoughts??

I have ordered Carbon Tubes from them in the past and Alun who owns Magic Hand has always been very prompt in his reply and service. I believe that his ARFs are built my a company called fd-models but do not have any more info than that. I know there was a guy in the US who had one of the 50cc Sukhoi's, I think there was a build thread on RCU?

Well I was still saying the biggest factor is if the new planes are covered ultracote or not, if they are covered in ultracote and not chinacote crap, then they would be awesome planes if the construction is good,, , and the only other drawback is the shipping cost, to ship a 35% plane it is 189 dollars at Troybuilt, that is alittle rip off,, and if you ask them why it is so high they get pissed off,, Tom Fawcett of Wildhare rc will ship a 35% for 93 dollars UPS air freight insured, and it comes in 2-3 days,, I would definitly buy some planes from Troybuilt but they are trying to make money on the consumer from overcharging shipping,,

Just got off the phone with Bill at Troybuilt models,, he said they are expecting the planes the second week in March to start shipping, and he said they are covered in actual ULTRACOTE,,, so unless he is lying should be a good deal,,

Acehobby is selling the SD line now. My local hobbyshop will be selling the 30% ARFs for $450-$499. His minimum order is 3. He didn't have a price for the bigger stuff... but the lineup is actually SD models lineup... different trim schemes but same airframe/build quality.

Man , i didn't think this thread would ever get going. But now that it has , YEAH , i think it's great there is another company putting out aircraft at a competitive price.

As far as SD is concerned......with ACE hobbies elling the line of SD models aircraft , are they going to stock all the sizes??.like 30%-40%??

I know that SD had a HUGE fallout with chief aircraft about a year or so ago , but now that TT bought the SD model line , i think chief aircraft is going to start selling these as well.......which is a good thing. They buy the planes at about 100-200 at a time.

That is a bummer that TBM won't be selling any more SD models ( Thunder tiger) now........what's the deal with that?

Also....As far as magic hand RC goes , the day i started this thread , i wrote them with a couple questions about their 97" Gee Bee. I have since wrote them two more times since then , and have yet to receive a reply. I think i'll be buying my Gee Bee from Austars instead.

Ace will be caring all sizes and we should see some additional airframes in different sizes.

I couldnt agree more about TBM they are a great company that suppports our hobby. It will make things more difficult for ACE in the short term. Way better for all of us knowing they are bringing another manafacture to us..

I have one of the 73" yaks in red and black on pre-order. I am planning on doing a build thread as soon as it comes in. I am going to put an OS-1.60 in it. I checked the manual and it is not very informative. I will report on the quality as soon as I get it.

Hopefully, with TT distributing 30%, 33%, 35%, 40%, and 42% arfs, Horizon/Hobbico will see the light and start distributing more big stuff. I can buy the 35% H9 Extra 260 from the local hobby shop and save about $100 on shipping (if order from Horizon). This is one reason I keep supporting the local guy... granted I order online all the time, but I try to give my local guy some business as well... Stocking big arf's will definitely keep me on the hook with the local guy.
