Me too, the video on the magic hand site is of a 50cc in that color. It looks really good especially with the checkerboard on the underside of the wings. Can't wait to get it started.

What type of covering is it? Chinacote or Ultracote? To answer why I said buy a QQ aircraft is that I don't think you will find an better flying plane period! And on top of that QQ Aircraft stands behind all their products 100%, you will not find customer service any better anywhere in this industry, parts are also always available for the planes if needed. The staff is top notch, where else can you call and talk to the man himself that designed the plane and has flown it and will spend as much time as needed to make sure you are a happy customer.
Just for the record I am in no way associated with QQ Aircraft, they just have a great company.

A few more pics, the cowl is unreal. It has 4 blind attach points, everything is pre-plumbed, hardware is ok, I will be doing a build thread on this one.
My set up will be: OS 1.60 w slimline pitts (VP-30 maybe) 4 5925s for ails and eles 1 5985 for rudder 225mg for throttle 6vt nicad I will be changing out some of the hardware for dubro stuff. |

maineflyer, Looks like we better get that 33% Mega pilot completed in time for your cockpit detailing!!?
How tall is the canopy , and how wide is the fuse of the Magic Hand YAK?? Just finished this 40%er today - going to N. Carolina with special request goatee. |

I must agree with you as far as customer service goes I own the Python and my dealings with them where excellent. QQ planes do fly great and are generally light. That being said i also own a QB 35% 260 and a SD model 37.5% yak both fly awesome and are well built. My QQ python was no better in build and Quality than my other planes. It was far from perfect though ( landing gear, cowl, CG, hatch color match, tight wing tube ) It required some tinkering like all my planes did but I am very happy with it and if it went in I would not hesitate to buy another one . I am a little tired of his schemes they all seem to look the same. That is why its nice to see other manufacturers, gives us diversity. There are several good companies making great airplanes and QQ is one of the best |

The fuse is virtually identical in size to the EF yak 74" including canopy size. The EF yak in the pics is NIB also, the build quality on the Magic hand is as good as I have seen from some of the big names. Hardware qaulity is average and not as good as the Extreme flight. Hinging is CA vs hing points, wing tube is aluminum and heavy, no manual. The cowl and canopy are outstanding and the cowl had great detail including a ring for a hidden connection. I will have to look for a bigger motor mount for the 1.60 and will change out some hardware with 4-40 stuff. The airfoil is thinner with a sharper leading edge than the EF Yak on all surfaces.
This plane was purchased from TBM models. I personally have never had a problem with their customer service and to infer that I will not receive great service after purchase and should have bought a QQ is rather disconcerting and think a slam on TBM. I expect them (per conversations) to fully support this line and I think upgraded landing gear and wing tubes will be the works. As far as affording a QQ, as you can see I have aNIB EF yak (one of the Best) and this new Magic Hand. My wife liked the color sceme on this magic hand and bought it for me for my birthday. I talked in depth with TBM before the purchase and they were very excited about the line, (rightly so, I beleive). I will be doing a build thread to give people an idea of how it goes together. The quality of the plane itself (not hardware) will rival anything (in this size) I have seen in the ARF market today. I have built and owned planes from Dave Patrick, Extreme Flight, Ultra RC, MaxAir, Fliton and this one holds its own. Oh and by the way the covering was friggin pristine! Not a mark, mar or wrinkle on it. Only time I have ever opened a canopy and cowl that was wrapped in tissue paper and then protected with bubble wrap. Also the only plane I have seen that is preplumbed and all connections are secured with zip ties and have a nice quality fuel dot pre-installed. All of this for $229.00 ( you can't get an Ebay knock off for that!). Anyway I am going to weigh the plane tonight and start a thread for the build. Hopefully it will come in around 10 lbs. Mainflyer you said it all!! The covering on mine was perfect too!! I was gonna make this my first gasser and use a 26cc bcma engine but i dont think its gonna have 3d power with it. Everything minus the hardware came in around 6 1/4 lbs. Add 36-40 oz for the engine and now i only have 1 1/2lb to play with..Do you think i would be better off going with a os 160 or getting the 40cc?

Nitrobeast,
I am not sure, I have 2 new 1.60s for this and the EF yak so thats what I am using but a 40cc would rock this plane!! I am trying to keep it as light as possible and shooting for 10 - 10.5 lbs. The 1.60s I bought new for 200.00 and 225.00 on the internet at RCU and ebay. The $200 one I got with a slimline pitts for 200.00(only had 2 tanks through it). I think either way you would have a real winner. What did you think of the cowl and canopy? I will probably switch out the fuel line and maybe the tank. The line looked narrow. I didn't have time to really go over everthing really well. I will do that tonight hopefully. Jeff |
