I picked mine up from greyhound on saturday.. I went with the red/white/blue one. They really do look like a great plane dont they? I mounted my engine (DA-100) problem was I used the mounting template and set it on the box where the words "DA-100" was horizontally. Drilled the holes, and as you know by now, the orientation was wrong. Dowelled the holes in and redrilled and all is perfect. Hardest thing is waiting for the new gear to show up...

Yes on the A123s, never weighed it until the other day just knew it was super light compared to my Jtec which is 29lbs.
Weighed it on buddies scales and it came in at what I thought....first time for everything. Dont know that theres any place to save any more unless you go with a DA85. Sure flies good with the 100 bout 20 flights so far. My setup is was identical, Ive now got the 9100 in it. Falls out of a hover into a harrier like you wouldnt believe, makes you braver than you probably should be, kinda hard to land it bad its so lite, little bit of coupling but so far Ive not mixed a thing and needed 1 click of aileron trim on first flight. CG is towards the rear of the tube. Nice flat spins. I have found that Im flying it on high rates its so easy to fly I forget to put it back on low. Seems to be one of those hidden gems you come across once in a while. If you ever flew the 50cc Wild hare Extra V2 its very similar. btw I have the built up wings as I didnt like the foam ones and Tom sent me built up to replace them, foam ones are a few ounces heavier...got both now. I dont know if you know but although the A123s look huge they in fact weigh in the same as a Nobs 4.8v Sanyo 1950 pack.
So far my consumption per flight is around 270mah per 12minutes so plenty of headroom with no charging between flights. 120mah or so on the DA100 Not to shabby for $25 home made packs. |

I just want to clarify a couple points.
This plane is a carbon copy of the Wild Hare 41% Extra, just smaller. We just scaled down the Cad plans and built the exact same plane, so it might look familiar. It flies just like the bigger one, it's a 3d monster and a excellent IMAC plane too. In testing the first prototype we had some problems with the sheeted foam wings that were not encountered until after the first production batch had been built. The builder felt that the problems we saw were associated with being hand built and would not occur on the production wings. I was skeptical, so I had the builder make all new built-up wings to use as replacements. This held up selling the planes to the general public for a few months but gave us some time to do more testing while we were waiting for the replacement wings to arrive. I let a few guys do more testing on the production wings and in the real world with several people flying the production sheeted wings real hard there have been zero problems, so now I can give everybody their choice of sheeted foam or built-up wings and I have lots of spares. This plane uses the same pocket hinging as on the 102" Sukhoi and the bigger Extra. It flies great on the DA-85, the dual location wing tubes came in handy. I am flying one myself, and for the maiden flight when I got to the field I found it was way tail heavy with the 85. So I just moved the wing to the rear tube and it balanced perfectly. TF |

For what is's worth...I have bought five ARF planes from WILDHARE, and each of them has been great. Well built, engineered well and flew super. This man stands behind his products and will do what it takes to insure customer satisfaction. This statement is not solicited nor sponsored. I have been so pleased, I just had to comment.. Sorry Tom, wasnt knocking the wings, built up ones are fine 2.
I did make one screw up that may save some...the elevator servos are in the H stab not the fuse!! Dont ask. Also be sure to add ply as suggested to the ouside of the pants as they are light and flex, that will save any cracks. |
