I was asked to fly one of my race planes at a full size airshow in AL Ain UAE last month. Were is UAE or United Arab Emirates? South side of the persain gulf. South of Iran and Iraq. I don't have enought time to explain that it isn't the same as being north of the Gulf, just Google to learn more but it is the example of what a capatilast society can achive when they have a stable government and lots of money and leaders with vision. This is were they have the worlds tallest building under construction. The islands being made out in the Gulf, largest mall in the world, indoor ski slope etc etc.
So I am trying to attach a picture of my plane and some helpers I found there. Bare with me as I try and figure out the thread picture posting thing. Sparky |

When you are doing a new post, there will be a "go advanced" button to click near the bottom. Click on that - then manage attachements & upload your photo. There are size limits on photos - so you may have to size it down a bit.
Cool deal on the UAE demo! |

I'm going to try a picture of my plane with some "sand hooters". These Girls are the perfect women. They don't understand any english so I don't have to think they understand what I am saying.

Ok I'll try another picture post.
Here is a stand off scale Gilmore race plane I'll see if it shows up before I add any more info. Looks like it worked this time. Flown by a German. It is about 60 pounds at 30% scale all lazer cut parts that he engineered. Moki 5 cly 4 stroke radial. He runs only 2.5% oil in the fuel. It sounds awsome. Uses 2 liters of smoke oil in the 8 minute flight It looks good sounds good. My only complaint is that he doesn't have a pilot in the CP. Sparky |

Snap,
Yep I have been there in the summer and it is not only hot but Humid as well. The humidity was a suprise to me. Pretty much like south florida but hotter. Lots of Soviet equipment at the airports as well. There was an AN-224 the big one at Al Ain while we were flying at the air show. Sparky |

I'll try the Concord next. It flew outstanding powered by 2 30# thrust jets I understand it is available as a kit for the big money.

The most unusal thing I saw was a display of Falconry. This bird is worth about $45,000. The picture was snapped just after he did his demo the handeler is pictured as well.
They use a model ARF.60 size trainer pulling a bait that the bird chases. They fly around for about 5 minutes with the bird in hot pursuit. Very impressive to see how quickly the bird responds and is trained to chase the bait. In this picture the bird is exhausted he is panting quite a bit as he has done a great deal of work. The german modelers that were there said they do the same thing in Germany using an electric airplane to pull the bait. They had 3 birds at the show and alternated which bird they used. One of the birds would do a high dive after they flew up to about 5-600 feet and would dive the plane and the bird would tuck and do a very high speed attack on the bait. I think just about everybody would come out and watch the BIRD show. Sparky |

They take falconry very seriously, usually the bird eyes are covered.
