Default anyone tried to build a flatout like a shocky?

I really dont like all of the plastic parts on the great planes flatouts and i think that i could mabe build one like a regular profile foamy like a shocky with no plastic hardware. Has anyone ever tried to do this? How does it turn out to be? I want to do this on the Turmoil.
thanx

Tony, I heard from Kitman, that there is a dude who does teh Flatouts like the Shokies. I think that he said that they fly MUCH BETTER.......... I've not tried this from personal expierence, but Kitman is a reputable source for some answers.... Feel free to PM him!!!

Tony,
Me and another guy in my area just finished two of the flt-outs I've got the 330 and he's got the Cap. In IMO opinion and his too they fly worse than crap. Especially outside His crashed on the first flight . The shock flyers are far better inside or out Haven't flown one of the Flat-outs in a dome but I understand there not very popular there either.
Good luck and sell it

Super-Huck!: Presented for incredible contributions from our members, to our community. - Issue reason: All four of these guys definitely out-did themselves and exhibited excellent skills with video and camera work. Their stuff appears on the BOTG page. Thanks for submitting to the gallery guys!

The only one I would entertain would be the Reflection. That plane is near perfect.
Sean McMurtry flies one (his version that Greg Ward designed and then sold to Tower) during contests. The Reflection flies nearly as well.

On to your question... I have one and will use normal hinge tape (3M stuff) and won't bother with the plastic hinges.

I have seen other designs like the cap fly well outside too, so there are definite opinions which are not alike.

Other than the reflection, my favorite foamy has always been either my 3DFoamy Tiburon Bipe (I have a ton of pics if you want to see it) and my Shock Flyers.

I've got a Reflection, and I'm not to crazy about how it flies!!! Even my friends seem to think along the same lines as I do!!! The Flat outs fly like GARBAGE!!!!! My opinion!!!!

The Reflection is balanced right on the money, but in a hover, it is REALLY pitch happy!!! And yes, I am using EXPO!!!! HMMMMM, maybe a bit more time on it and I may like it??? I just like my Equalizer more, I guess............
