Default 35% Builders Kits?

I'm looking for a 35% Extra 330 or Yak builders kit. I've searched and only seen three: CA kits sold by Aeroworks, Carden and Aero Tech. I've heard nightmare stories about Aero Tech. Any reccomendations? Aeroworks/CA or Carden? Are there any others? Dalton only has an Extra 260 in 35%

I was just looking at a construction article on a Carden Yak. Wow...I know the quality of the parts and wood is great, but for the money there doesn't seem to be much prefabrication (sheeted wing cores and stuff).

The CA kits from Aero works it looks like you get more in this area for about $300 less. Do you know anyone who has built one?

Carden, Dalton or a Hurley if you can find one.

I would seriously be looking at the Dalton 35% Extra 260 if I were in your shoes. Planning to build one myself someday for kicks and giggles, after I do all three of the 40%'ers

Yes. I was talking about the Hurley Extra that was featured in MA several years ago. I think you can still get all the foam, glass, and laser cut parts as well as plans if you look hard enough. I picked up one in November that I hope to finish this spring.

When I got it I started looking for Mike to ask some questions, but I heard that he got out of planes and is restoring old Motorcycles now.

I really like the bird, and have heard nothing but good things about it. However, when I am done with this one, it will be a Dalton or Carden for me.

Thanks for all the advice! I think I'm leaning toward the Dalton Extra 260.

His column kind of went south when he declared that profiles wouldn't 3D. Motorcycles, sounds like fun.

He's into motocycles now and completely out of model aviation. I was in the same club he was when I lived in CO and he was selling the last of his stuff in August at our Big Bird Festival. Cardens with DA 150's on Greve Pipes and everything...gone.

I knew Mike personally. I remember the article. Mike was the president of my local club RAMAC here in NJ for a while. He was president of the club right after I was. He was here in between stints in Colorado. He followed his wife's job back to that part of the country. Is he still doing articles for deep sea diving too?
