2008 SVF Phoenix Pattern Contest
Well, I did have this really long post about the SVF Phoenix Pattern contest that’s going on this weekend. But since I managed to delete it before getting it posted, I’ll just post pics of it for now, or at least the practicing before getting there. Hopefully others will add to it.

Look at Tony out there flying in your jackets it must be a low of 60 out there!!!! Must be nice, as I write this its 11 degrees out with 5" of snow!!!! This place sucks.

It was nice mid-day, but as it got later, the winds kept getting colder and colder. Not 11 (or -20) cold, but for this Floridian, it was cold. Nice thing was the Northerners thought it was a bit chilly to
. Just got a text from my dad... 4" of snow in NY (WRAM show), so it could be worse. Off to the races...

It might have been cold for Tucson Standards but I love when everyone comes to Toledo for the show and then they get a glimpse of cold or like when JAS went to Champaign for E-fest 2 degrees outside without wind chill. With wind chill -20.
Anyways lets see some more pattern plane pics my Integral is hanging on my wall downstairs not flown since November!!!

Here at the field. Slight drizzle, but Nedim is flying anyway. There are 19 registered pilots so far, more arriving every time I look up, and the weather is supposed to be nice over the weekend. So far 6 in FAI and the rest spread out evenly in the other classes. Airplanes range from the Venus to Oxai models and everything in between. I'll take some pics tomorrow and try and get them posted during the day. Rusty Fried has his laptop here so I can hopefully get some updates during the day. Everyone has jackets on now, but tomorrow and certainly Sunday will be a different story.
