Today I got a lot done on the Bampf. The wing is almost done except for gluing on the belly pan and installing the control horns on ailerons.

The servos that I'm using are ST126mg's for all surfaces and a ST47bb on throttle.
Dad and I also decided on a motor for the plane. It was a OS-108FX 2cycle.
All the reviews are great on the motor and it's only a couple of ounces heaver than the 4stroke recommended in the book.
The main things I got done tonight were making the blocks for servo mounting. Making the servo plates for installation in wing. Then finishing up all servo wiring running through the wing.
So far this plane is a breeze to build and is very easy. It's taking me a bit to build because school gets in the way

I got a little more done tonight. The horns were installed on the ailerons and linkages were used for mach up. I need to get bigger servo arms for the wings.
I started on the fuse installing the servos. Both the elevator servos were installed with 24in. extensions running in the fuse. I also installed the throttle servo temporarily.
I still have more work to do tonight. I plan to get the engine mounted and maybe get the gas tank put together.

For 3D, you will have to upgrade to JR double lock aluminum servo arms. Looking good. Good luck with the mounting.

My dad picked up the heavy duty plastic servo arms for JR. I have used them before on other 1/4 scale and above planes and they hold up good. I would have the double lock arms on there, but my dad needs them for another project.

I left off last night with drilling the holes and installing the blind nuts for the mount.

Last night I finally got the engine all mounted up and ready for final instillation.
The top mount required some modification around the top right. So I just used the sanding block to shape it round.
Second I clamped the engine in place with 5-5/8in. from fire wall to spinner back plate. After it was in place I marked it and drilled it on the drill press.

Also, another great product that Golden Skies RC produces is their wheels and spinners. Top quality all the way....

I installed the horns for the elevators and adjusted the linkages tonight. I spent a little time mixing the 2 channels together, but it works great.

Even though the muffler didn't work out, the building is still in progress.
The engine was fixed to the plane again and the cowl was trimmed to fit perfectly. The plane is starting to take shape.....

Sorry to hear about the muffler problem, I've been watching this thread, that is gonna be one sweet lookin plane. I liked it ever since I saw in the AMA Magazine.

Best of luck with the build, looks great, except for the mufflers. Do you have an estimate on the weight?

I don't have the weight of it yet. After I get done flying tomorrow, I will total everything up and post it.

I went to the LHS Monday and returned the muffler. Both of the ones they had were for a pusher type configuration. They are being exchanged for the correct ones that will arrive on Thursday.
