Cover or Paint Cowl?

I have a 35% Dalton extra 260 that I am finishing up and i am at the point in which to do the cowl. I was wondering if covering the cowl was an option and if so how does it compare to painting the cowl. I would probably paint the cowl if it wasn't for the fact that I absolutly such at painting.

So let me know what you guys think in terms of what I should do and if anyone has covered there cowl before please chime in I am in desperate need of tips from anyone.

I really don't covering fiberglass is an option.
At least in my experiences I have never seen this.

If you see a covered cowl, its usually because the guy made a balsa cowl and covered it.
My friend Papa Stek, all his Carden Cowl's are scrapped and he has them made from Balsa, that way he can cover them and have a perfect match. The things a pieces of artwork.

Thats interesting.
I'd like to see a finished piece, and like to see it sitting in the sun..
if it can stand the test of a full summer, that may be an option.

For those who don't know, Mr. Stilley has won numerous "Best Monokote" awards. I would take what he says as gold. As far as wrinkles, I'd assume that Fiberglass is the same as Balsa. Here's an awesome article on getting that wrinkle free finish:
