Mid to late April and yes they work.

I hope people keep their receipts for items that have a warranty. How else are you going to prove when it was purchased? There are several items that are sold that have serial numbers but you have to register them to have the warranty. The engines that BME produces now will have serial numbers.

Thank you

Actually, Andy, no carburetor modification has proven 100% successful at stopping the fuel puddling issues. The basic mis-engineering of the inlet tract makes it impossible to achieve a carbretor tuning, at low flow velocities, that will never puddle. This is basic 2-stroke science. People, like RTK, who run at pretty lean needle settings do not experience the symptoms of this puddling as badly as those who tune richer, which is conducive to 3D type flying. Just seeing the difference in how the engine runs with proper inlet shaping is enough to end any ideas about further costly modifications to the carburetor itself.

But, as you pointed out, the cheap fix, in this case, is probably the best solution. Simply make the inlet flow as it always should have, and let the carburetor take care of itself.

I have a BME that has a serial number marked on the inside of the crankcase. I do not know if all of mine have them since I have not taken the others apart. As for the 3 needle carb that I have, it works and I have witnesses to prove it. The one that Kris posted here in FG is not like mine. I do feel it would be easier for the average modeler to use the new reed block over the three needle carb. KISS

Kris--With the particular 3-needler carb I am using, my engine sounds just like a DA on the low end I am fairly rich on the low, just right on the mid, and a tad rich on the high. But I do agree that a re-designed intake would be the easiest and best for all.

Also a lot easier for the manufacturer. . 2-3 hours modifying a carburetor, or 5 seconds bolting on the properly shaped inlet tract . .. take your pick. It still totally blows me away that Keith never went the easy route on this. Even 3W has finaly seen the light. . .
