Default A cold day in STL with JagerBomb and FastFord

So I hear that JagerBomb and FastFord are going out today to maiden two planes. A QQ Pitts Python and an Extreme Flight 88" Yak. Hell yah I wanted to get out of the house and see this. It has been several months since I've seen nice big gassers fly. Well, that would be "A" gasser, the EF Yak was actually an E-Yak Powered by Hacker and FlightPower.

I first drove to JagerBomb's house as they were doing some finishing touches to the Python. I got to sneak a look at his new 2008 projects....a BIG Composite-Arf Yak and a Pitts Python also from Composite-Arf.

Anyways, we finally loaded the planes up and headed to the field. It showed 39 degrees but more importantly there was almost no wind.

The Yak flew great. Just a quick 4 minute flight to gently break in the batteries. It seemed that power was not an issue for the Yak. I made a comment to Mark that I've never seen him pussyfoot a flight before, I think it was a first for him.

Next Up was FastFord and the QQ Pitts Python. This had a DA100 powered by Fromeco and Futaba 14mz guidance. I believe the servos were 9156's (?) Correct me if I'm wrong. Two things I noticed really quick about the Python. It has great power with the DA100 (Mejzlik 26x12). This engine ran for about two minutes before it saw air under its wings. The other thing that I realized is that the plane has an awesome roll rate. At the recommended 45* high rate it was stupid fast.

Well after those two flights I had to boogie on out of there as they stayed for more flights.

Here are a couple of pics that I snapped.

Enjoy!

Fastford.

Have the batteries gone flat in your camera or are you going to keep hanging us out dry until it gets photographed in the Florida sunshine.???
