It is sitting at the warehouse waiting to be shipped. As soon as Tom calls and releases it then I will have it in 3 days. I'm really pissed about the whole situation, should have had it yesterday and planned on finishing it up this weekend. Hopefully have it by middle of next week.

I back ordered this thing almost 2 months ago. You would think you would not have to work this hard trying and give your money to the local hobby shop.

I don't think, I know. Should have ordered through tower or someone else. I could be, er, ah, you could be flying it already.

Sorry to tell you this but the tube is a metric size. Not sure of the exact dim but it is larger than 1.5"

Aeroworks makes a nice CF tube that is around 40-41mm. You can also contact Desert Aircraft about metric tubes from PBG composites. Nearly two pounds for a wing tube is quite heavy and for this little plane, I think it would be worth it to spend an extra $100 on at least a CF upgrade here.
Based on the weights that Bill posted, it looks like there is room for some serious weight loss with little extra work. I would say this plane would be a serious hot-doggin' over-powered 3D monster if a guy could get the weight down to 34-35 pounds, and it looks possible...

You might be right if you're using the 9156's. But I can tell you that, although it is surely not overkill, two 8711's on a 41 pound 40% Yak is enough for just about every type of aerobatics except maybe KE square loops.

I'll double check the wingtube weight just to be sure my measurement was correct......I am definitely comfortable with all the other weights I posted.

The fuselage looks pretty "stripped" down to begin with....lots of lightening holes put in for weight control.

Am looking at modifying the rudder tray for use with a single Seiko servo, or if worse comes to worse making a tray from scratch. I just can't get into a "ganged" servo setup....please don't beat me unmercifully for this "backward" thinking, as it's just a personal preference and I know the majority of fliers use ganging routinely and give it the big thumbs up.

Bill,
That wing tube weight is pretty close. CF tube will save a bunch of weight with this model.

Hey guys, I just got off of the phone with JagerBomb and he mentioned that the motor mount guide was off on his. Double check before you go drilling. Might need to mount it the old fashioned way (measure yourself).

Someone posted on another site that the tube was 2" X 52"! That's a damn fence post for a wingtube. Hopefully someone carries a replacement CF tube.

Hey guys,

Just dropping in to let you know that the wing tube is 50mm. I got a replacement from DA and it was a whole bunch lighter!!!

I ck'd both planes and the motor mounting template in the manual is wrong. The cross on the plane is correct. I measured up and down 45mm and made a line then 39.5mm left and right made the corresponding marks drilled the holes and the spinner is centered perfect. I might also had a tip on putting the servo arms together. start by putting the ballend part together first then the servo wheel section. That makes it much easier. I was very impressed with the hardware that came with the plane. It is extremely complete and there were spares on much of it. I typically don't use much of the stock hardware when assembling arfs. This plane is the exception. Everything is of top quality and it fits. The only thing I changed was the fuel tank and the wingtube. The tank and hardware are good units but I had a dubro tank already plumbed and sitting there so I used it. I received the plane late wednesday afternoon and it is sitting on the table now with only the receiver batteries and switches to install. It went together extremely easy and fast. No real surprises other than the mount template.
