Default Another QuiQue Python Finished!

This plane will be my 3D and IMAC competition plane for 2008. From box to completion in 10 days! The Python is powered by a DA-100. I am using JR 8711 servos on the elevator and rudder and Hitec 5955s on the ailerons. Fromeco lithium-ion batteries are providing the juice and everything is controlled by the new Spektrum AR9100 receiver and JR X9303 2.4Ghz transmitter. I am waiting for a carbon prop and spinner from Chief Aircraft and some FG stickers! I will maiden the plane this Sunday.

Looks nice!

I've got a question about the Python, will this plane fly in a inverted harrier? I really want one, but I love flying inverted low and slow.

Good luck with the maiden Dubd

dubd,

Good luck on the maiden. You said 10 days to get her ready. Can you translate that to hours?

Thanks!

It looks like it is rock solid in inverted harriers based on the videos I've seen.

I spent about 15 hours on the plane, which includes programming my radio. The plane went together quickly.

15 hours! That is a quick build for a bipe. Great job.

Thanks Reza. I have not balanced it yet since I am waiting for my carbon spinner. Think I'll have any issues given the electronics layout? I have 2 5200mah lith-ion packs on the supplied battery tray and a 2600mah lith-ion next to the ignition per your instructions.

I was waiting on a Mejzlik 27x10, but I decided on a Vess 27A instead.

Dubd,

At least you can start this one without a fire extinguisher near by!!
I've got a 27X10 Mej if you want to try it.

Nice work...
Where did you place the antenna's for the AR9100? Are there any in the wings?
Do you have canisters/tuned pipe on the DA100?
What the auw of your Python?
Hope she balances right on the spot...
I think this thing was build for inverted harriers!

Good luck with the maiden

I don't have a python, But I have tried a lot of props with a Da100 and found the 26B seems to fly my QQ 102'' Yak the best.

Dubd - Your Python looks great and I can tell you first hand that you're going to love it and the radio! I fly mine with a JR9303 and Spektrum AR9100 and all 8711's and all I can say is that the combination is fast in response and has a very strong RF connection (prove it to yourself with a Flight Log).

And with my DA100 on mufflers and Vess 27B, the vertical is astounding. It flies like a foamy! If the 27A over-revs for you, give the "B" a try. It's a very good match for the near sea level altitudes we fly at in NC. BTW - Mine weighed in at 26 3/4 lb without fuel.

This is my new favorite airplane!
