Cool news!!! Put my name on the list when a 40% anything comes out. The fact that it has foam wings is killer. Hope this is only the start of a great partnership. Carden lines and construction tecniques with H9 customer service. Couldn't ask for anything more

Says it's Carden style build up but not who's doing the building.... Seems to be the most complete ARF for the money on the market (soon to be on the market). I'm concerned about the overall weight and DA motor however, it is 3 inches wider on wingspan and it is set up for the MTW canister unit.... Looks like a nice package for the money, I'll have to see what else is said about it over the next few weeks, I might just have to spend my "Free Money" check on this thing come May..... lol

I'm really happy to hear all of the excitement for this new project. Its been a lot of fun working with Dennis and Caroline on this and I'm really happy we were able to finally put it together. The model is great, it is truly a shrunken Carden Yak in design and construction. The pic is the flying (dry) weight of the final model. Thats with a DA-50, Slimline muffler, and 1 x 2700 Nimh on the rx and one on the ignition. It flies great and looks great!
Yes, we chose David's trim scheme since David works for us and Dennis and I both agreed that it was one of our favorite schemes that we'd seen on his 150cc Yak.

I've had a long and very positive relationship with Carden and I'm so glad to be able to take it to the next level, and help Dennis and caroline fill a gap in the market that they havent been able to fill with their kit line.

We didnt shoot any video of all of the test flying, and the weather here in IL is horrible right now. Actually, David Payne is going to fly it for some video this weekend though so we hope to get some video up very soon.

Mike,

I've talked to you a few times on line and in person over the years and have always respected your opinion and talents, your input on this project may very well persuade me into a purchase. I've dealt with Dennis in the past and have found him to be an honest and forthcoming guy, no doubt the two of you and Horizon will do well in this project....

I really like the idea of a Carden ARF. I personally like to build but it gives even builders other options if time is not available. The other huge plus is that I'd be shocked if Carden ever stopped making kits. It keeps both the builders and the ARF flyers happy. What's even more amazing is that the Yak ARF is Carden construction. When I first saw this announcement, I thought the construction would be built up wings and light ply fuse like a H9. While H9 planes are great, Carden construction is much stronger overall. Great job Carden and H9.

I agree, I like the carden kits too, but now an ARF in the mix too that is too cool. I have never built a carden kit, but how hard is it to do. I think I could build the fuse but the wings and stabs is what worries me(the sheeting etc.).

Just ordered one. My LHS says it has a release date of 4:20 which is always a great day of the year. Looking foward to this plane I am sure it's going to be a winner.

Considering that the only 50cc Carden is the Cuda at $600 for the kit, $700 is a deal for a Carden/H9 ARF. If this 50 cc Yak were a Carden kit, it would be every bit of $6-700 and you'd have to build it or pay a builder at least $1200 on top of the kit to build and cover.
