Don't know about the rest of you but i've already ordered my H9/Carden. I'd really like to see a bigger one but oh well. There's just something about Yak's i really like.

Anyone know if it has a canister tunnel built in? There's no documentation on the H9 web page yet.

I'm sure it does.
Now, I think a 75cc arf version of the Extra 300 midwing done as a joint Horizon/Carden venture would be sick. But that's just me. |

Mike,
Go to Horizon's web site and look at the photo gallery, one of the pics has the caption that it will take a canister such as the the MTW TD75K. rob |

Mike,
Do you have an ETA on the Yak? How many does Horizon have coming and how many have been sold? rob |

I like the scheme and the plane is really awesome. If I had the extra $700 laying around I would get one but I just dont need another 50cc right now.
I think that anyone that gets one will be very happy with it. |

Now I'm shopping for an engine. I'm leaning towards the Evolution 58GX2 but I'm not reading too many great things about it. Mostly, I think, because there aren't a lot of them out there in this DA50 world we seem to live in. I'm thinking the extra weight of this plane needs more HP than a DA50-class engine. |

I would also look into a Brillelli 366 (60cc).
If you're interested in the Evolution 58 though, I've been told by multiple people that the "fix" is to rotate the carb around 180 degrees. I've also read that they produce more power when on a can versus a stock muffler. |

For what it is worth, I've got an Evolution 58 in my 30% SD Yak and have been very, very happy with it. There's another guy at my field that also has one. Between the two of us we've had zero problems.
The only thing we've done is to ditch/not use the auto-choke system. The 58 would be an awesome choice for this airframe and would have significantly more power than a DA50 or equivalent. I love this new design! If I ever loose my SD-Yak, this will be on top of the list for a replacement airframe! I can do without the purple/yellow combo though. |
