I have been looking at it for over a year now. I really like the scheme and from what I have heard it flys very good. Al and Kevin just set one up with an 85 and took off with it to the Nall before they flew it. I will talk to them on Monday to see how it is with the wrap around pitts. I believe their expected weight was around 23 lbs.

There needs to be some video taken of the plane and a 85.

If Al doesn't have one by the time I get mine done I will do one. I may just do one anyway of the DA 85 and tuned pipe combo.

I posted a vid of my Extra back on Page 13, 3rd flight on a new plane/motor combo so it's running rich... here's a link to the post: http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/f...tml#post428348

dbcaster - I fly at SACRATS in Union City. Been working long days and weekends so not much time flying lately. I'll be at the field every other Thurs for the next month in the am - shoot me a PM if you get down this way... The power is insane for an 85 - at least as much as a DA-100 on stock cans and is only getting better the more fuel I get through it

Ok, so I had no time to edit this and it was my wife's first time filming. Who knew youtube would take a 350meg video!

A little windy, but there are some good climbouts showing the setup's power.

A nice landing

Flight #13 on the DA85 and flight #25 for me and giant scale
3rd time to the field this season... when will summer come.

You got the pipe/prop match dialed in!
The sound level- you will likely have to live with .
My 80 setup was about the same noise on the 27x10 std Mejzlic.

My electrics are more silent----

That looks to be an excellent power combination. Nice work.

Thanks! I deserve no credit though. Just dropped in the same setup as TBrum, skipped the 27x10 and went straight to a 28x10. I think a PT 28x10 would help it a little. We'll see. The field I was at in the video isn't a noise concern even at full tilt - just the other club is. Overall I think the setup is pretty quiet.

I turn the Mejzlik 28X10 the same RPM as the PT 28X10.. They both turn 6800-6850 rpm on the ground on my 106.. Everyone says the PT is a little harder to turn but mine doesn't seem to matter. Maybe my pipes are a little too long and the engine is maxed at 6800rpm.. I am thinking of shortening the pipes .250" and see what that does.. In my opinion the Mej does pull out of hover with more instant response but that is just me....I found both props to rip about the same in the air...

Thing is all I have ever done with the setup is lean the low to 1 turn on first turn. Absolutely nothing since then! Perhaps I should lean it out next time I go to the field to see if I get more. Right now though the response is great, no sagging at all so I am not really worried. Also will switch to synth soon.

I would like to try a 28X12 or maybe a 29X10 just for the heck of it to how they do on my 106.. All in all tho the DA85 on pipe makes a potent powerful setup..

DUDE! Shaun, DON'T touch that setup! Wow, I've never seen a motor/pipe/prop combo so dialed in. Ridiculous power as well.
