well in that case I think I will be fine with the mej 27*10th that is what DA recommended.

krayzc, 6180 with a mej 28*10 is pretty good with a pitts muffler, I bet that prop noise was minimal.

How do they make the prop load on the 28'' and 27'' about the same?
blade shape is adjusted - the numbers on props are just that- numbers -
I have measured over 1000rpm difference on same "number" props - from different vendors.
The new thin Mejzlics are another example - same numbers --different loads
Nobody is lying - they simply have their own idea as to best shape
This is why a "load prop" which is a known load - has to be used as referrence. The numbers are VERY misleading

it was quiter but the motor was not zippy lol. I did not fly it but to me it would need to be flown to really know the deal. Being at 21.5 lbs it should work on my deal I only use 3/4 throttle on my uplines iwth the 26A unless i want to show how fast this DA will put this plane in orbit. On the ground 3/4 throttle is about 5800-6000k with my t-mix.

Thanks for the info. The prefect example of that is how the 3w props load the engine down. Also what tach are you using? I was thinking about getting the one from fromeco. So it really comes down to trial and error to see what works for you. Well I would like to get a 27*10 std mej when ever they come instock and try out.

Krayzc, I feel you on the 3/4 throttle it becomes a rocket at wot on a vertical upline. Once time I flew a vertical upline at half throttle and I was still shocked.

any of the tachs such as the cheap H9 tach is as good as the most expensive ones you can find -
We ran comparative tests over n over and the differences are almost zip
BUT you must be sure you are getting a solid reading !!! It is easy to fool most optical tachs due to lighting conditions .
My own tach on my 80? it is built into the ignition -and is a direct reading device --and it gives the same numbers as any optical tach -when we did comparisons

Sprice man, give me a dingle. I'll whip by your house today and check out your new 85 and pipe after Jody and the kids get home from that birthday party. Have you started to remove the BME yet?

Oh ya, my DA85 showed up within a week from DA. The pipe is the size of a softball bat and looks pretty nice! I'll have to take some pics later.

Yeah - the pipe is pretty big. I was hacking up the bottom of the 35% Extra to get it in today. Can't wait to fire this thing up!! I'll need to break the motor in, so will see if I can do that on the 27x10th I have...

Shaun,
It's a PacificPlanes Extra 260 (almost the same as the AeroWorks) - took alot of chopping to get it in, but looking good. I'll post up pics later tonight...

No going to touch that last comment ^^

Here's a couple photos of the chop job on the fuse - wrapped it up tonight and pretty happy with the results...

Grabbed some header heat wrap and hit the pipe where it's just above the gear plate - no delam issues in my future...

If memory serves me correctly, the first thing you did when you saw my pipe was pick it up and polish it for at least 15 mins.

Oh, Mark man..... go and buy your boat and get fishing
