I have talked with others about alum. and other "rare" metals used to reduce weight in engines...
and what I found is that you can't make a crankshaft out of TI or aluminum due to it not lasting to
the motor pulses (Think Formula 1-racing.... they don't even use the stuff)

Anytime you reduce rotating mass in a engine, you increase power output to the crank shaft...
(from what I understand).
Alum vrs. steel ROd? not sure ....but one would think that being that the 2-largest names in RC (DA, and almost possitive 3w does) plane gasoline/petro engines use a alloy other than alum.

Wether stamped, pured, forged or otherwise...would make me think that they are on to something right...

I am thinking that there isn't a need to worry why it has been changed, mostlikely for the better.

Nor 2 stroke racing engines does. Apart some karting engines to be honest.....

I call aluminium what should be a T7075-T6 alloy...

Being working and living in China since 5 years already, in manufacturing and quality field, I wouldn't bet my head on this.......

maybe with the smaller in size or mass of the steel rod,the engine may not vibrate as much?
also MVVS-Evolution has aluminum rods and they are the top dog in power rite now IMO.

Balanced counter weight, porting, timing etc., affects vibes, no matter what material is used.
