Make sure the roots are epoxied on and use thin ca to harden/fuel proof any exposed wood.

On an electric heli the covering is more cosmetic than functional.
If it is glow heli then follow Andy's advice.

Chunk the old blades and get a set of Youngblood Radix or V-Blades. Thunder Tiger blades work well also and are a little cheaper. Also check Heliproz and look at the Mavrikk blades. They are pertty good for the price. If your old blades are wood, don't run them over 1800 rpm and don't do any violent 3D with them. If you are just hovering they will be OK, but a good set of carbon blades will make for a much better flying heli.

Ive been needing a set of blades for my falcon for a while now, I was planning on going with some align 450 blades 32mm325mm which are a bit longer than my origionals, I could also run 32mm315mm.
I was just wondering what effect longer and shorter blades have on the flying characteristics of my heli. I did have a set of 295mm blades on it but they were hong kong foam ones that flew terribly, not sure if it was the length or the material they were made of. The stock falcon blades are 300mm. |

To try to explain simply: A bigger set of blades makes a bigger disc. A bigger disc is harder to move, remember the old spinning disc in physics at school? Running a bigger disc does require a bit more power, which will mean shorter run times. My suggestion would be to try the align 315mm blades first. Nice price and they do fly pretty good. The falcon is a 450 size machine so the size should be fine. glenn
