Thought I'd share some Christmas present photos with everybody... I got a 41%Wildhare Extra in the Yellow/White/Black scheme. I already have a Red/White/Blue version that flies great. Took it out for the first time this afternoon and it flies just as good as the other.
I'll post some pics and answer questions for those interested. I've been flying the red/white/blue version for about a year now and couldn't ask for much better. Simply bought this one as a backup for my original. It is setup with a 3W150 with cannisters, WH cannister mounts, 5955's (2 per ail, 1 per ele), and 2 8711's in a push-pull config in the tail. Have TBM 5200 Lion batteries for the Rx, Duralite PowerBox, TBM 2600 Lion for ignition. Seems light, though I haven't weighed it. Again, any questions PM or ask away. I'm not affiliated with Tom/Wildhare, just thought I'd share. Gerry |

Hey Gary, where do you fly near Gastonia? I'm up in Concord, with the Charlotte Aeromodelers.

Kris,
I fly down in York, SC most of the time. Also fly at the Shelby, NC field at times as well. Maybe we could get together and fly sometime... If memory serves me correct, you have a 41% Extra as well flying with a DA150 with Greeves tuned pipes don't you? You still like yours? Gerry Jr. |

Danny,
They both fly great... good vertical, easy to track straight and true, good for precision. It'll also hover, harrier and 3D real well also. Really a nice flying plane overall... couldn't ask for much better. Haven't weighed either one, but I'd guess anywhere from 38-40 lbs. ZDZ 160 on cans should fly it great for both 3D and precision. Yes, its cut for 3 in each wing and 2 in the stab. I just chose to use 2 and 1 instead.
On the other wildhare, I have 2 in each stab instead of just 1, but decided to change things up a little with this one. Gerry Jr. |

Good call on 2 servos per stab. I got blow back with just one servo. I really miss this plane
What an amazing flying plane. Makes you look like a much better pilot with no effort.

Other than that the plane tracks pretty well and is very stable for IMAC flying. Point rolls tend to pitch up slightly, which again can be mixed out with aileron differential. My single 5955 per stab and dual 5955's on each wing are more than adequate for anything I want to do with the plane. When I built the new wings supplied by WH, I moved the aileron horn pickup points to better center on the servo arms arc of travel, making things more mechanically correct. I had to move each point about 5/8", but I prefer the new placement. When I get a chance, I'll do the same for the elevators, then move the rod in a hole or two on the servo arm to make things smoother. After all, this is an IMAC plane. Smoother is better, and I have no intention of ever 3D'ing it. Best of luck with yours.
