the recommended CG is a good starting point, fly it there and adjust to your liking, what else do you want to know about?

The manual wont really help. depends on which mototr your using, prop clearance, and cg. My DA 170 prop hub is just a little over 3/4'' past the cowl, that was srtictly for cg. we set it for minimal prop clearance at first. Plus I didnt setup a stock firewall/motorbox, mine was modified quiet a bit to be lighter and stronger.

i am concidering modifying the firewall / motorbox as i felt it a bit weak for the da 170 .
i will reinforce the side frame i will use swb with 3 jr 8611a for rudder , jr 8711 on the elevator, jr 8611a on the alerons throtle jr 8411 with 2 A123 batteries for the electronics and fromeco lipo for the ignition. @ Mike where did you place the batteries ? that can help me define the cg . regards

On the very bottom of the motor box, just behind the mufflers. Had to to get the proper cg. But I have 2 servos in the tail for push-pull rudder. And my fuel tank is above the WT right on the cg, so no cg change as fuel is used.
