Default 2008 plane weights.

So now that most of the 08 planes are getting finished up what weights did you come up.
I ended up with 38lbs dry on my 40%. Any one with the 3m compy 260 know places to loose weight??? How much weight do you loose when you put in carbon tubes???
Heres the set up
3m compy extra 260
da-150 on greeves.
9 8711's
1 8231
2 fromeco 5200's 1 2600
smartfly turbo reg into an eq10

Chris, if you tune in what weight did you get on your 260

So show us your succesfully lite weight set ups

Scratch built 33% Hurley extra 300l 98 inch WS
DA85
mezjlick 27x10th
True turn spinner
Fromeco batts
JR 8711 and 5955
Spektrum guidance
All carbon gear except wing tube. The carbon tube was to skinny and slipped in and out to easlily.

23 pounds 10 oz; It sounds high but the plane locked in and flew great sequences; its a large 33%er. The 85 pulled it vertical and sped up; the power to weight is insane! Ill get pics when I paint the cowl the proper scheme.

No rpms to report yet. The prop, for the time I have on it, sounded like it was made for the engine. The spool up was quick and there was no lag on spool down. The engine didn't sound like it was struggling to spin the prop at all even though it has been used since first pop. I needed the extra nose weight and the mezjlick prop was 3 oz heavier than the 26a vess I had planed to break the motor in on. I will have a more in depth report after i fly the prop a lot more until then my first impressions are very good.

40% CAP 232 = 40.5 lbs
40% Edge 540 = ? haven't weighed it yet
40% Extra 330 = Not finished yet

100% Sleepy 235 lbs +/- 5
(hoping the fiber I have been putting into the mid section will bring the weight down to 200, but we will see. right now this frame is flying the sequences like crap, and I'm not sure less weight will help.)

Sleepy, I think the weight help keep the plane put in the wind. So maybe you should pack on a lot more weight and see if you fly the sequence better .

Sleepy, how does your 40% Cap fly at 40.5 lbs? Mine was 38 lbs. after adding cans the year before last, and it flew great at that weight. Over the winter I decided to do a complete rebuild including new covering and paint. I was getting nervous that I may end up 1 to 1 1/2 lbs. heavier than it was, meaning it may be 39.5 lbs. when done. I am trying to keep it at 38 lbs, but I won't know for sure until it is done. I am not sure if I should be concerned with this or not. I just want to make sure that very slow flight is nice and stable like it was at 38 lbs.
