Sounds like a leakage problem from the ignition, Hunter. Good luck getting your money back from XPS. there are a lot of sources (including myself) for CDI ignitions for your engines at a very reasonable price. Check them out if you can.

Havent been kicked off, just unsubscribed from all threads so I don't get notified if there are entries anymore. Some I liked to be on as it was interesting to converse with the other guys. Still get in occasionally, but it's been pretty dead compared to a couple months ago.

JD's firing up the BS machine again, backed by his total lack of familiarity with Ohms Law.

in this post he claims that the XPS receiver will handle around 350A at 6V -- because it handles 46.5A at 45V.

If you've ever seen a 350A fuse and compared it to the PCB traces on an XPS receiver, you'll see that this claim ranks right up there with the mythical 8-element patent-pending spherical antenna and clarivoyant frequency hopping.

I really can't believe that someone who claims to have designed a state of the art 2.4GHz RC system can not be familiar with the most basic cornerstones of electrical theory and the function P=I2R.

If it wasn't so sad (for those who believe this BS) it would be funny.

But then again I forget -- the laws of physics are different in JD's world and Georg Ohm is just another "self-appointed expert" I guess.

So were XPS at the Nall?

Did they have their "custom show trailer and 6 booths".

Did anyone get a chance to discuss Kiwi's test results with them?

Anyone buy more XPS gear?

Anyone return their gear for a refund?

Yeah, but that's for the power going into a load -- there's no way the receiver buss on XPS can dissipate a power of 2100 watts -- which is what his formula would suggest.

Again, it points to yet another complete lack of understanding on JD's part.

We tested XPS at the Nall and it worked perfect on 2 different planes. love it. I now installed it on my 42% and will fill in on the results.

Good luck with it! Mine worked for a while too. I had it in my 40% yak for awhile...

Hey xjet. I see you go banned and your posts removed on the xps forum.... It's not nice to point out when the mod is wrong and makes a mistake

I have PICTURES!!!

Jim was not very busy at the Nall, and he hardly had a crowd of people beating down his door to buy his product. I must say, his selection was one of the most sparse of any of the vendors on Vendors Row. He also only had 2 spaces allotted, backed up by his hauler. Hardly the "6 spaces" he advertised for the event. yet another deception and over-hype on the part of XPS.

I also asked his "assistant" if they wre going to be putting on any demonstrations of frequency agility, but he said they had not brought any equipment for that, and were there only to discuss the product and sell to buyers.

the only "Custom" thing about his booth setup was the EZ-up with the XPS lettering. Th rest was standard stuff, with stickers and vinyl. Hardly "Custom", and it was towed by a rental truck, not one owned by XPS. . again. . hardly "Custom".

Also, to the best of my knowledge, there were NO "demos" of XPS by Graupner, and the only demo I saw of 2.4 was Mike Mc and Horizon showing off the range of 2.4 by flying their Spektrum equipped Ultimate a MILE down the flightline to the 3D line, then back again. Man, that plane was WAYYYY out there. . no way I'd ever fly out that far.
