LOL!

Digi is a billion dollar company, you can ask them yourself about their antenna patents, both pending and granted.

I did, and the support agent denied multiple times that any patents concerning the antenna of the Xbee(pro) module existed. Instead, they told me that it was a standard groundplane monopole.

Here is the list of antennas the Xbee(pro) module is approved for:

https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/f...ive_or_pdf=pdf

Where is the spherical antenna?

Now you might claim that the modules you use are no "standard" modules. However, as you use the FCC ID of the standard modules, this claim would be BS.

Until a patent number is provided, I do not believe a word.

There is a little dog that that lives next door that barks everytime I go outside.
You people remind me of that little dog. Every time JD posts you have to bark at him.

Perhaps that dog barks for a VERY good reason. Maybe he smells bull-feces like we do every time JD posts!!!

Avoid XPS and your airframes will, on average, live longer. That fact is indisputable among those that have paid attention.

I don't know who you chatted with, but there is information on their website about this technology.

Our module hardware is the XBEE hardware, but the firmware is radically different, although it was created by Digi for us.

Every single quarter since the release of the XtremeLink system (3+ years ago), our profits have increased. With well over 100,000 systems in use world-wide, it is clear that the system works and we are not going anywhere. With our new hardware (smallest and lightest 2.4GHz receiver in the world), we will be getting into new markets.

I never had an issue. Worked perfectly for me every time I flew it. But one of the advantages that we homosapiens have is that we have the ability to learn from others' mistakes. I know several turbine guys that had serious issues with XPS. They are NOT dummies and I respect them greatly. They have been around a long time and are very knowledgable. Their airframes make your 35% gassers look like the Cox toys of which you speak. They had more than adequate power supplies. Therefore JD's normal "power" reason for blaming the consumer was not applicable.

No, XPS (especially first gen) is not reliable enough for anything more than a foamy. The new stuff sounds better, but do you really wanna trust the guy that lied to you???? Well, maybe in a 35% gasser, but not in something valuable! ;-))

Where? Could you provide a link?
I searched and found zero...

Do you mean that the hardware of the Xbee modules you get is in no way different from the hardware of any other Xbee module?

My brother and I are keeping an open mind and if these appear to work for what we require, we will certainly entertain the idea.

Btw, one of the servos we thought was an issue turned out to be a bad esc/bec combo that was putting some serious noise on the system. Replacing the servo was not the answer, replacing the esc was. I know, first time anyone has heard of that...

I got another axiom for you that is usually 99% accurate: "If JD says it, it is BS!"
