Anyone have any experience with the Hangar 9 B-25 with Evolution 36.
We had a friend show up with one and it just stalled out on take off. The plane came in at around 12lbs. Just want some info on what your experiences are with this set up.

I've seen the TF version fly on 2 YS63's........it was superb with this combo!
Have not seen anyone with the H9 version yet though.

What do you mean it just stalled out on take off? It flies very scale with the 36, you can't yank the stick back on take off. Did the plane crash or are you just saying it seems under powered?

A friend of ours here in Conroe has one that came with the .36's but he opted for Saito .82's. He's running 3 bladed props and has also installed a lot of detail and operating gear doors. The plane is also sporting a nicely detailed cockpit with full pilots. He's at 13 pounds plus and it still flies great. Did your friend make it into the air with his .36's? It should fly okay with them. I've seen one other one that did fine.

Well you see here is the thing. Our field isn't that great. We don't have a paved runway that would allow for a smoother takeoff. But the nose gear hit a rut causing the plane to pitch towards a fence. The plane finally came off the ground after about 200ft then it just pitched vertical and had a very untimely cartwheel with our lovely but very hard mother earth. So in short it crashed. And yes it did seem a little underpowered because of the amount of runway it took to get off the ground.

Gay plane with Gay motors
They could cancel each other out and be a cool plane But I doubt it.

Seen one with twin 40's seemed to have enough power. Worst problem was the engine nacelles.. Both fell apart while taxing on asphalt.. No glue...

9 months late but....
The .36's are plenty of motor, will do loops, cuban's etc. What is important are the props, the Evolution 3-bladers are cute but not too efficient. Changing to APC 11x4's made a huge difference. |

I have a handful of flights on one with two .36's. NOT overpowered, but flies scale, and flies well.

I think I took that picture! Yep the .36's fly the plane fine. YS63's though would be stellar

Just changed my 36's for Evolutions 45's. The fit was almost perfect and a big difference in performance. I also had problems taking off on a grass field but on longer.
