Default Toys for Tots Fun Fly (cincinnati) May 3-4

Hello everyone,

The Ross Area Flyers (www.rossareaflyers.com) is hosting a charity fun fly on May 3rd and 4th. All the registration fees will be going to the local Toys for Tots Foundation.

This will be a mixed fun fly so planks and helis will be allowed. If there is enough interest we will do a crowd judged freestyle comp similar to the night fly format at IRCHA. Night flying will also be allowed on saturday but it will be electric only due to noise.

I will have a finalized flyer by this weekend for everyone as well. If you have any questions let me know.

See you there,
Ryan

Ryan,

Sorry, but a lot of the Cincinnati Flying Giants will be in Terre Haute that weekend for an IMAC contest. Bummer, it sounds like it will be a good time--have fun!!

Marian,

I saw the IMAC contest after we set the dates. Sorry about that. But please pass this on to anyone who won't be going to the DCM. Also, I think I'll try to make the Columbus event for my 1st competitive event, regardless I'm going to do the Hamilton event. Any chance I could get some pointers from you guys some time? I don't know of any other group that is a knowledgable as you guys are.

Neil4,

Maryland. Now that's a long drive.

Ryan,

It would be great to see you at the Columbus event!! Will gets out quite a bit to practice during the week and on the weekends. We will be at the Cincinnati Aeromodelers the weekend before the Columbus contest and you are certainly welcome to come out and we'll help you with set up, maneuvers or whatever. We will probably be out a few times in the evening that week as well. And by the way, there are plenty of people more knowledgeable about IMAC than we are. That reminds me, there will be an intro to IMAC in Indianapolis the weekend of March 29 and 30 designed to help people just getting into IMAC--if you are free you might want to check it out.

Marian

There may be plenty of others more knowledgeable but you guys are the only ones I know. I thought about indy but I don't know if I'll have a plane together by then.

It took a while for my husband and I to conceive, so when – after 8 years of trying – we finally had a son, we felt overly protective of him, and I am still that way about him, even though my son Nikita is now a boy of 9. I have always been very meticulous when choosing toys for him – I always look at who the manufacture is and whether or not the toy is right for his age. When he was little, I remember I would give shop assistants at stores a hard time demanding that they should provide me with all the information on the contents of the toy, the painting agents used in it, etc.; I would also make sure that there were no small parts that the child might break off or swallow or put up his nose or in his ears. Nikita loves radio-controlled toys, but until recently I had been very skeptical about them – they seemed so flimsy to me and very easy to step on and break and then you might cut your feet on the plastic parts just as bad as on glass. However, when Nikita’s godmother gave him a toy motorcycle as a present, at first, I could not believe that the toy was manufactured in China – it is of excellent quality and looks so beautiful. I talked my friend into telling me how much it cost her and was again pleasantly surprised: I would have thought that it would be at least twice as expensive. I have found the manufacturing company’s website www.manuflexgroup.com, and in the past year, I have bought 5 different toys manufactured by the company Manuflex Group.
