The Florida jets was a windy one , Friday we were having a good day there were a few jets flying but the winds were stiff and only the brave ones would fly , Frank Tiano even put up award dinner tickets for anyone who would fly there were a few takers we look at radar at 3pm and seen a nasty line of storms moving in and packed up for the day
Saturday after the storms past it brought 27 mph winds with even higher gusts during the saturday flying as you can see from the windsocks in the photos hardly any one would fly ,Jason Shulman was doing quite a bit and looked very content in the wind and put on a good show there were quite a few damaged planes from trying , there was a world class award winning jet who decided to fly while there were 2 foamy edf jets up he pulled a vertical at the end of the run way and came back down and struck the A-4 skyhawk (value 300.00) head on turning it into a snow cloud the bad thing was the debris busted a large hole in the leading edge of the wing and some went into the motor stalling it the pilot landed it in the ditch next to the runway damage was heavy this plane just the kit with retracts is about 10000.00 without the motor and other hardware after that flying was on and off through out the day Sunday finally a good day a little cooler but no more wind everyone was flying and was a nice show in spectators there were turbine prop planes and a huge jet with a handy cam strapped to it the crowds stuck around till the end and the pilots flew until it was time to close this isn't the typical flying we do on weekends but man what a rush to see these planes rip at 200+ mph next time your near a jet show stop by and spend the day, you got to give it to these pilots i not sure if i could risk flying a 20000.00 plane in the winds that we were dealing with my hats off to them ENJOY THE SLIDE SHOW VIDEO MAY NOT BE UP UNTILL THE LATE ON THE 10TH OR THE 11TH Last edited by HUNTERNFLA; 03-11-2008 at 12:26 AM. I wish I could have been there. I'll be at CA-Jets at Buttonwillow in April.
