Default Godfrey kits ?

I talked with Robert Godfrey yesterday evening about one of his kits, I just wanted to know is anyone flying one of these or building one as of now. I talked with him about his 40% and 35% Extra 300. Any info would be appreciated.

Off topic but did you find out anything on his website saying this or that kit is still waiting on something to be ready for sale ? All the ones I'm looking at seem to be on hold for months now.

P.S. I like your avitar ! Hope they get it together SOON !!

I'd sure like to snag one of those 36% Edge kits for that introductory price.

I met Bob Godfrey once. Me and a buddy were hanging out in the check-in lounge at the Sahara, '02 TOC, waiting for one of our guys to get there so we could go eat. We started talking to a couple of older guys who were doing the same. It wasn't until we got up to leave that I noticed their nametags: Don Lowe and Bob Godfrey. Sheesh, like 2 of the guys who were so influential in there even being a TOC as we knew it. Last TOC, glad I made it.

Thanks on the avatar, can't really help it being that I work there (Hendrick Motorsports) I work in the engine dept. I think you will see a steady improvement. As far as the website I saw the same thing as you but when talking with Robert he sounded like you could get any of the kits. He is going to be at the Joe Nall with some of them built up, I'm hopin to catch a look at them there. See you in victory lane!!!

Been flying Godfrey for the past ten years. Had everything from the orignal 37% 300s to the 300L. Also had the 32.5 extra. Currently I am flying the 40% 300 Probably the best airplane they have come up with. The Airplane will fly as hard as you can fly it, but will also fly like a trainer. Great kit I would suggest that if you get one have Robert sheet everything its worth the money on the time you will save plus I hate to sheet.

I'm flying a 40% Godfrey Extra now and lovin' it. You just can't go wrong. I built mine myself and I definately would not call myself an experienced builder. It took about a year working on it on and off. With the resources on the internet to help with the build it works out great. Robert is extremely helpfull with any questions you may have also and always returns calls/emails. The kit is definately a winner. My friend (Albert Santiago) sheeted the wings and painted the cowl/ canopy hatch for me so that helped out a ton. Mine is 39.5 pounds with a DA 150 and MTW 110's. Definately a great plane/kit to buy.

I'd like to see some pics of the 32.5" Extra 300.

I'm also looking forward to the BBW 40% Extra 300 thread.

I got to put 5 or 6 flights on Jon's last summer and thats what convinced me to buy one.

Heres Jon flying the plane that day.

Robert told me on the phone that he was going to build one of the 32.5% Extra's up and put a DA-85 in and would more than likely have it at the Joe Nall this May. He's hoping to have the time to get it done. These kits are priced well below the others out there and I'm sure that it being a Godfrey the quality is top notch.
