I would also suggest that the user add a secondary means of securing the wings.. one bolt is just not enuff!!

I have been flying su for about 6 months, the landing gear(we can say softnes)came up 2 months ago.the fix was to install(like a toc yak)angle stock bolted to 1/8 inch fuse side reinforcement.the big guy came out at 44.5 with da 170 on 110k cans.the lg fix and 6" sullivan wheels, and careful landings, seem to be working.

Just be sure to add a second means of holding the wing against the fuselage... likely if you did a careful inspection, you will find the fuse side has cracked away from the bulkhead in front of the single screw.....

My Su looked a lot like that only I think the pieces were smaller. Sorry for your loss, unfortunately I know exactly how it feels.

Happened at the Rabbit Bash 2 weeks ago.

Yeah... it had a few quirky things.. but overall it was a fun plane....
the WWW170 was perfect for this plane... anything less, and it woulda been
kinda piggy.... 'specially at the altitude I usually fly....

RIP

Damn Mith....i'm sorry to see you lost the big Suk. I never did get a chance to put mine together , as i sold it to someone else. I decided to stick with the 100cc size for now. I think the actual sheer size of that damn thing intimidated me HAHA! That big Sukhoi was a beast of a plane!

AARRGGG!!....you friggin' Bastige Ron! How the heck are ya man? Long time since i've seen you in this neck of the woods. I've got some smaller and bigger planes in the works right now. I don't really plan on doing much flying until spring , but i'm trying to finish up a few different airframes i have here now and one that will be ordered in the spring time when it's released. IF everything goes well , i should be able to maiden 2 or possibly 3 different 35% birds. I have a couple bigger electrics i'm putting together as well with a PA 58" extra that weighs less than 4lbs and a 70" AJ Slick.

Work has been CRAZY! I can't believe how much work i have going on right now in the construction stuff. I am more busy now , than i was in June and July. This last week , i finished up a job that took me 8 days , and it took 70 labor hours + a 3 hour round trip back and forth to Oregon City! That's 94 friggin' hours in 8 days......my body is quiverring. I got home late last night , jumped in the shower and then curled up into the fetal position! My body hurts!

Hope things are good with you Ron. Give me a call sometime buddy.
