This week I received the mufflers. Decided to run standard mufflers on this project to keep it light. So I installed the mufflers this morning. Once they were mounted I marked the lower cowl to cut holes for the stacks.
Next step is to locate the Air Baffle for the lower cowl. Locate the F35 piece of wood and place it on the cowl. Mark 3 holes and drill, use the supplied 4-40 SHCS, washer, and nuts to secure the baffle in place. Last step before securing the lower cowl is to setup your vent line, I just drilled a hole in the cowl to allow the line to hang through the bottom. |

Corey,
That plane is huge. You should do a comparison photo between it and 40% Carden CAP in your garage. We should have done that today...This plane makes the carden look like a 35% plane...This plane does not disappoint...I cant wait to see it fly... |

Preparing the rudder tray for installation, I cut the plugs off the servos and soldered the Air Wild braided cable. I used the wire mesh over the wires to give it a clean look. Now that the rudder tray is complete, it is time to start cleaning up the install and check the CG.

This really is a nice plane, It does dwarf the 40% Cap. I really like the idea of the rudder tray being easily positioned to set the final balance. I can't wait to see this baby fly.
Good luck in Toledo |

This afternoon I finished up on the major work. Worked on the CG and mounted the rudder tray in place. Once this was complete I came back through and cleaned up my wiring. So far it came out a little tail heavy. I am still trying to make up my mind on what kind of spinner to use. It looks like the spinner will adjust the CG right where I want it. The rudder tray is designed so that you shift it forward or aft depending on whether it is tail heavy or nose heavy. Now that the rudder tray has been installed. I finished setting up the pull pull cables using the same steps as earlier in the build. I am using a Pin/Flag switch on each regulator. Also a Ernst charge port on the ride side for the Spektrum data logger.
The only thing that needs to take place is program my servos and install the Ignition battery and Switch. Still waiting on that package to come in! |

After a quick build and a long drive to Toledo... Here's the Air Wild 40% Sukhoi 29. We only lack a few things to have it ready for it's maiden flight. When I returned home from the show, I had a package from FromeCo to finish the Ignition setup. Some programming on servos and final inspection she should be air worthy.

Should have made it with additional hatches... The 29 is the least appealing of all the sukhois.
