I'm trying something new to hold the prop on my propsavers, I'm tired of O-rings that crack after a month or rubber bands that let you down at just the wrong time. I was heavy into fishing and tying lures, I had some skirt rubber laying around in my tackle box, it had been there for years. I picked it up and even after all that time it was supple and stretched real nice. I thought HMMMMM I wonder.
This stuff splits into strands, I seperated 2-3 strands and cut it to about 8 Inches, tied a knot in each end and put on the prop saver, a month later and it's working great, no sign of deterioration, just as good as new. Here is a link to the stuff and some pic's. This would come in real handy for indoor foamies where the screws for the propsaver are tiny. I've used it on a 6Oz Foamy and all the way up to a 1 Lb plane with a 177 Watt motor, no failures. Here is a link to the skirt rubber I was talking about. http://www.lurecraft.com/catalog.cfm.../living-rubber Just an Idea, Let me know if it works for you. Best Regards Ernie |
