Anybody got one of these?
I noticed on Towers' website the price is right. I have also watched you tube videos and it seems to fly pretty good.

Yeap, I got one ... starting on it this week. I see you edited your post. You must have linked the 87" Yak, .. because I don't know anywhere you can find a video of the 94".

I edited it cause I forgot to post the picture.
I would post the one video I did find but I do not know how to post you tube videos. I believe it is a 33% as at the end of the video it says 3w80xi. Could be wrong though.

Its not likely the 94". One easy way to tell ... the 87" is White .. the 94" is red. Also, there are many vids on youtube of the white 87" flying with 50cc, 60cc and 80cc engines. The box calls for 50 - 80cc engines. It's a big plane for a 50cc (1450 sq. inches), and its better suited to a 80cc. My 94" is definitely 1/3 scale and has 1742 sq. inches. The box says 80cc engines, but mine is getting a 100cc twin. I've scoured the internet hard for a vid of the 94" Lanier Yak, and haven't found a thing. Guess I'll have to finish mine up and post the first video.

I would like to see a video also, my 94" Yak just arrived...opened her up and she looks good !! Cowl is huge...for $399.00 minus discounts, I don't neeed the roof to fall in on me, nor do I need another airplane...but what the hey, it's here now! Gotta find a motor, DA85 or HyPo 3W redhead 85cc, we'll see what I find. Any input would be appreciated !! It is a good looking bird for sure...!!!

All the surfaces on this plane are huge ... very 3D minded. The ailerons, elevators and rudder all have a lot of area. Its basically just like the 87" but blown up scale, with a different covering scheme. The quality is high! ...
Also ... in case it's flying under the radar ... Tower has the new 1/3 scale Lanier 94" Extra 330 in stock and on sale for ..... regular $799 ---- > $299 !!! Mine will be here Monday

I got mine a week ago. This bird is build very light. I sold my 1/3 scale GP Cap 580.
I will be using 3W-85XI CS, it was in the 26 lb Cap 580 and the power was insane. It did hover less then 1/2 throttle. Just make sure to check the glue joints. I will soak some Thin CA to all joints I can reach and beef up landing gear area. Hopefully I can get the AUW around 23 lbs or lighter. Next few days I will weigh all the components and post it here. My question is why is Tower selling these birds so cheap, $299 for 1/3 scale Extra 330, 1/3 scale Yak 54 $399??? These are high quality airplanes, well I am not gonna complain about the price

Just weigh everything that airplane came with and it is @ 14.96 lbs.
Wheels are low quality so I am replacing them with H9 4-1/2 inch Pro Lite wheels. They weigh lot more but more durable. I am estimating AUW 23 lbs. |

Will the new DL-100 be to much for this plane, or can it take a 100cc?

Looks like Lanier's day is done (at least at TowerHobbies) virtually all the kits and ARFs are marked Discontinued. Since they appear to be owned by Hobbico now and Tower is their only distribution, I'm afraid that doesn't look good.
I've flown several Lanier products and they always have been good planes. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they keep going and just pop up somewhere else. MadDog Joe

Mine came today.
Everything from the box weighted 13.73 lbs. What How much oz. in. servos for the ailerons? They are huge ( 38 " long X 5 at one end X 7 at the other ) two servos per wing. I was going HS5955TG, but if I can save a little with a smaller servo, that would be nice.
