Default Blade 400 Battery charge rate?

Okay guys, I know it's not a Trex but that may come later so for now I have a battery charging question;

I'm using a CellPro 4S for my Li-Po's and A123 batteries. I've got the adapter for the Eflite 1800mah battery the Blade 400 comes with.

FMA (CellPro manufacturer) says you can balance charge "good quality" batteries at a 3C rate and "others" at 1C. I can charge my FMA batteries at 3C and the TP's seem to be okay with that charge rate.

Anybody know if it's okay to balance charge the Eflite battery at 3C?

Thanks in advance!

1C is better.

If you need some batteries I have 3 new 1800's and a spare charger. This is the Stock Blade setup.

100.00 for everything, you carry the shipping.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to charge those Eflight packs any faster than 1C. I don't think they'd last very long if you did.

Off topic but... I'm not sure what servos you've got in your blade, but I found that it's a completely different heli if you use something nice like DS285s or similar. It becomes so much more stable and predictable. ;-)

Also, a word to the wise... If you develop a heavy vibration, check the main shaft, I've seen them bend themselves... Especially if you are running a higher head speed than the stock 1800 pack produces.

Happy flying!

Well you dug up an old thread.....

Don't worry, the Blade is gone and I've a new T-Rex 450SE V2 I'm putting together.

And while I've read some good things about the JR 285's, this Rex is getting the new 287MG's which the specs say are twice as fast as the 285's.

I do appreciate those who took the time to respond, even if one of 'em was only trying to sell me something I didn't need....

Hah, I didn't even notice the date. I saw it in the latest forum posts section... go figure! You'll like the SEv2, a very smooth little heli.
