Default Re: fuel collecting in muffler

It is normal for a littl eunburnt fuel and all the oil to come spraying out the muffler when the engine is running. Especially if you have set it a little rich for break-in. Glow fuel is 18% oil and this does not burn but merely pass through the system and it comes out the muffler.

Probably you are setting the high speed needle valve a little too rich if you are getting a lot of unburned fuel in the exhaust. Rotate the high speed needle valve about 1/8 turn while the engine is running. then wait a couple seconds. Then repeat the 1/8 turn. Keep doing this until the engine reaches its peak (sounds like ti is going the fastest). eventually you will go too far and the engine will either slow down or quit. The open the needle valve back to where it was running the fastest. Open it from the fastest setting a little bit more (about 1/8 turn) so that you are on the rich side of the peak setting.
