Captn'
I have the TBM Yak shown in the photo with the flyer in the green shirt and love it. Very easy to fly, no bad habits and good aerobatics. Still running an OS 200 4 stroke glow in mine but it would be fantastic with the DLE30! Thanks for all your input and help on the DLE30 thread. Ken - Oxford MI. |

That is me with the green shirt. The planes flies well but if you are going gas I would beef up the firewall and landing gear areas. The gear are soft on this plane. Just a heads up.

I also have owned the MH yak 73". I ran a 45cc gasser in it. It was awesome. A flying buddy has the EF yak 74" with a 46cc brelli(I think it is a 46cc) Well we have flown each others plane and we both think that they fly alike. I did beef up the fire wall a little and the landing block I never touched. The gear is really soft if you go gas I would try to replace it. The plane would hover at 1/3 throttle. I ran the ftl 45cc from hobby city. The motor never gave me 1 problem at all. I think that this was a great set-up for some one getting into gas. With the gas motor I never had a problem with cg. All the gear was close to the wing tube. Idid up grade the wing tube to CF. I have a lot of flights on mine around 9-10 gallons of fuel. I never have had a problem with the gear block, but the gear does spread out on me.(we have paved runways which helps out a lot! Just a little info about mine....

I have both the MagicHand and the EF yak with identical setups, OS 1.60s pumped and both weight the same. While both fly good the EF flies better in almost all aspects hands down. I can be upright or inverted without touching the stick, much less mixing in knife edge and no wing rock in harriers, It snaps and rolls cleaner like a string was through it. I think a lot of this is due to the fact I could really fine tune the stabs when setting them up and getting them at 0 incidence...
If I could only have one plane this size for 3D it would be the EF yak. Jeff

First thing I did was replace the MH YAK gear with the EF Yak 73" gear. Far stronger and the best $25 I spent on this plane.
Mine flies well with the OS 200 4 stroke, Perry pump and a 18x6w APC - smooth, quiet and lots of torque. |

Hello,
I try to introduce myself in this thread. I am french, and as you can read, my english is bad, sorry :-) I fly with F3A Pattern model, and i would like to build this plane that you have experienced, but (there is always a "but") I only have electric motor even for pattern, so i would like to know, if someone did already try it in electric version ? Thanks, Olivier ... |

Oliver,
This thread has been pretty inactive for awhile. I suggest you post under a more general thread on "Giant Scale" - more people will see it. Perhaps even one of the electric forums as there are similar aircraft like Extreme Flight Yak that may have been converted to electric. Good Luck! Ken |
